Speedtest script driven site

edited November 2013 in General

hi there,
just having a go at making up a new site and need my DB to be populated a bit.. before i get the templates etc finished..

was wondering if a few of you might be able to try out my speedtest script.

few of the downloads are currently not there yet...
i think there is 16 in total currently.

then just checks netblock, IO, and reports it back to my site where it just goes into a DB. which im planning to let people search by Providers etc... and will also catalogue all of the speedtests for that address so you can get a history.

  • Looks good, a few more features than other scripts but it looks fairly similar to mcmyhost's speedtest script (you should probably give some credit in comments). I feel like I must lobby to people that make speedtest scripts to include upload speeds as well (because that's more important for a server).

The URL "URL: https://www.benchmy.net/result/62210137147/" has an SSL issue and it doesn't work. Also, the php script on your web server should try to sanitize the input (for obvious reasons).

  • Maximum VPS (Quadranet LA) 1 Gbit/s.

  • How about add ioping test. :D

  • @black yes it is similar to mcmyhosts, and there will be credits portrayed on the site for what I used from his to base it on (as I'm a bash noob still)
The site is still under construction so there is no ssl up yet or anything and the data will be sanitized etc. when everything gets tidied up :)

    @budi1413
That's on my todo list :)
Anything else you can think of.
I gotta try and get my city/state/country report working on all Countries so far only picks up France lol

  • How great if you can implement more Asia country like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia SEA etc.

  • I will be adding lots more locations and will be making a script that can customize what areas/locations and make a bash script to suit your needs etc (just with 2-3 standard ones)

I originally made a script with many test files, but it took forever even from a great connection. I found it better to just choose the most high performing providers.

  • Yeh that's why I thought I would make a php script to compile different versions of the speedtest script.
Considering I love in Australia I like to know most Australia connections.
Considering most Australia connections are pretty crap lots of people say in USA with target audience in Europe don't usually wanna know Australia ones.
But still a work in progress :)
Hoping to get it finished by the weekend (everyday life permitting)
