Hello @asadman1523 - thank you for placing your order with RackNerd. We sincerely appreciate your business.
We've doubled your bandwidth allocation.
thanks @swat4
Dustin is doing so much work, I hate to suggest more .... as well as making some readers upset ....
the subject being -- are bots bad? if so, would posting certain pieces of the offer, or the entire offer, as a JPG or PNG help real people staying up all night and hurt the automated bots in responding ?
FYI, I offer this idea naively as I have no idea if it would have any affect on bots ... as well as the possible negative affect on screen readers and other browser aids ...
All winners have been PM'd, and all double BW requests have been fulfilled.
I will begin working on private messages while monitoring this thread
Can the flash sale double the BW?
@verne - they want the traffic and want people hanging out on the thread waiting in anticipation. It gets people personally invested in the brand. they want you to stay up all night. It imprints them in your brain and eventually, you will buy something when you realize saving a little money by investing tons of time for a chance at free is futile. But since you are so invested in the hunt- you will pick racknerd.
Plus if they eliminate bots, are they also going to silence their 3 hypemen pumping the thread? I doubt it. So bots are just part of black friday everywhere
Did I win?
Does the KVM VPS from Racknerd comes with daily backup? Or you're on your own in regards to backups?
@bandai - if it does, no matter your provider- its prudent to make a backup to another provider at another location, to be ultra safe
Hmmm, I really don't know if the winners coded something. I trust in people. Butchaneverknow. Who knows. I like your creativity though. Which brought me an idea. What if I said for the next 5 minutes, any comments below mine will automatically be entered into the drawing. The drawing would then be handled by me, or anyone here on LET who is trusted. That person would then put those usernames who commented with 5 minutes into random.org and select 5 random winners.
@godslayer ??? Or who?
Anyone like this idea?
drawing entry

@dustinc flash sale maybe?
I thought you made that the new process before (with @Sebster27)
Sure, sounds more fair. (Does this count as entering?) 😁
Fingers crossed 🤞 for a win 😆
I say you take the first 50 (or 100?) comments, and pick 5 randomly as you say. Still an incentive to get in early, but no need to be microsecond accurate.
Maybe I'm biased because this is how I won my free Ryzen VPS earlier tho...
We do not provide backups for our KVM VPS, customers are responsible for their own backups. We do of course monitor the health of our machines, and have redundancy in place for example Hardware RAID-10. Including using third party monitoring i.e Hetrix. But this of course means nothing at the end of the day. Backups should always be taken by the customer.
For our shared/reseller customers, we do perform backups, daily with a retention of 3 days. Customers are always able to download these backups locally, as much as desired. As well as restore backups as desired. We use jetbackups for this.
Gang gang
In here, I guess.
Hoping to win some free VPS hosting:)
Kool!
These giveaways are really nice but seems like there's not a lot of traffic for now
@dustinc - who is truly trusted? Just run it the way you have been. There are users with mutiple screen names and in the past, they have been found out in time. And there are always brand shills- some hiding well, others not so much, and then there are those that become hype men for a brand - surely most people must question ties after they hype for over a day. So first come first served is probably the best bet or make them type a unique response here and at twitter and in the order note- that would kill most bots
Who's going to take the responsibility to manage this? I don't mind doing another giveaway. Would love to give someone the opportunity to do it.
Raffle is a great idea
I would like to say something about "bots". I highly highly highly doubt bots are in place, and if so, they must be bad bots. I don't want to brag, but this is to prove a point. I have won a good amount of giveaways on this forum. Not because I coded some super ultra script that can detect his # or whatever. I simply just refresh, and refresh, and refresh, and when I see Dustin post, I copy the code and paste. I've even won on my phone once. You can look through my history to see me win some, and lose some. I got first on some, and 5th on others. I want to prove that there aren't any bots on this forum. Like, at all. Just sometimes people are faster than you, and considering that LET's servers are in Seattle, those closer might have milliseconds faster to copy and paste, and I do live close to Seattle. Is that why I won a few? Maybe, maybe not.
Would you be up for it?
no sir- not at all. I think what you are doing is fair and equitable was my point. If the bots are killing your bottom line- you will stop it or make transfers difficult etc. So its really first come first served as the fairest method
