Minimum spec vps (128MB, 2GB HDD) at different locations

Hi guys,

I am looking for offers to expand my location repertoire.
The only real requirement I got, next to the location, is the network speed, 50 Mbps would be my absolute minimum with, let's say 50 GB traffic.
At best, I am looking for something cheap (<10-15€/y if possible) in different locations, but, depending on the (uncommon) location, I might be willing to pay more.
If the offer is a NAT box (which are preferred, as I don't need an own IPv4 explicitly) a reverse proxy feature would be a nice to have.
My usage would be personal VPN and/or distributed storage + website.

The locations I am looking for are (in descending priority):
BE, LUX, NL
AT, CH, CZ, HU, PL
DK, SE
Baltic states (EE, LV, LT)
Eastern Europe and Western Russia
Japan
Spain or Portugal
Africa and Middle/South America
Other exotic locations

I know some providers (eg. mrvm, inceptionhosting and gullo), but I am fairly sure there are others too! I also got to know exoticvm.com, but I don't know how uptodate the info is.

Thanks for reading

You already mentioned the big 3 NAT provider.
VirMach has this price point on Black Friday, usually in New York State.
If you want Antarctica location, https://yoursunny-summer-host.cf B)

With this many nodes, you probably need Ansible to control them.

Damn, your looking glass is great!
But you forgot to mention "the penguin" in your AUP

Yeah, it is kinda hard to find other hosts...
But I believe NL should be doable in this price range
Also, HostHatch got an offer last BF with interesting locations, but I missed it. Luckily, it is definitely not urgent... Such boxes are rather only a hobby project of mine.

NanoKVM disallows VPN. Looks like microLXC does not have this restriction.

Well, wireguard should work fine, since the wireguard kernel module is enabled on all microLXC nodes with shiny fresh 5.4 kernel running under the hood, same which NanoKVM uses.

Actually I wanted to put VPN on microLXC also on the forbidden things list, but so far the abuse rate has not gone up significant that you can say it would not be justified to put it on that list.

On NanoKVM you can use a VPN for internal network stuff, however anything else is not allowed. Depends on how microLXC goes it may be allowed on NanoKVM.

  • @Abdullah7310 Thanks for the response. I will look into it!

@Neoon Ah, I forgot about NanoKVM/MicroLXC, thanks. I am surprised by the existing locations (specifically CH and JP).
However, if VPN usage isn't allowed and the fact that I am not eligible (neither on LET or LES), it doesn't really look like a great option to me. Additionally, I certainly believe that there is a great demand for these services, therefore I guess it's best to not occupy any resources if possible.
Also, I definitely would like to pay for my needs. Again, many thanks @Neoon

Thank you too @pike, I've seen edis.at on exoticvm.com (as I mentioned in my post), but 5€/m is somewhat over my budget and I won't be needing such resources.

  • Maybe @estnoc can do you a custom plan in EE. Not sure if they do that tho.

  • @Neoon Thanks, maybe I will come back to it one time later!

To post some other information, I found that @UltraVPS expanded their server locations. I didn't know they had Lithuania and Moldovia offers until now! BF might get interesting this year!
