Looking for a server to run Minecraft on

Hey guys,

I am looking for a cheap VPS which I can run Minecraft on. It should not be too expensive. I am targeting the 3 Euro per month range (prefer paying monthly).

  • 1 CPU core
  • 2 GB Ram
  • 100 Mbit/s is fine
  • do not a dedicated IPv4 (Nat would be fine)
  • 20 GB SSD
  • Location: Europe

Currently I am thinking about the Hetzner Cloud server which seems to be my best bet. But if you do have something in mind (especially if there are good servers with NAT) I would be really grateful.

    Just the gf and me playing on there. We have the "Air Server" (1GB Ram) for some 13$/year. Works smoothly.

    You can also hop on their discord to ask questions. Mods&members are fairly active there.

    €9.80/m EUR for your config.

    I'm currently running my server on this:

    (2 cores shared, 8GB RAM, 160GB SSD) @ ~5€/m with yearly payment. Their payment is weired as we all know but the performance/price ratio is quite fine.

    The small 1core/2GB/2,62€/m is priced even lower than the Hetzner Cloud.

    The boxes are also fine for smaller modded Packs (Astroblock etc.) but a little bit slow for Big packs like Eternal or Enigmatica but still good enough for < 5 Players.

    Hetzner Cloud performed better for me but is a little bit more expensive if you need the RAM (if you want to try other packs in the future). If you don't run your server 24/7 and automate the deployment and storage you could get away cheaper (their API works quite ok). Example:

    Playing/Running 80h/m => 0.005€/h * 80h = 0.4€
    Snapshot storage (maybe ~10G?) => 0.01€/GB/m = 0.1€
    For 80h of fun with a little bit of automation for auto snapshot/rebuild = 0.5€/m :)
