Have anyone heard of any offer like this? The intention behind this server is to make a media server for my family. I want to share my local media with them.

It could be any type of HDD, cold or cheap storage really, and 512GB disk is just fine, also. Performance is not required since it will contain mostly images or movie files accessible through a media service. For the 1 core CPU, anything between 2.0 GHZ and above will do just fine.

Any basic OneProv-Online or Kimsufi Atom (~5-6€/month) in Europe (or Canada?) indeed.

Or for slightly better CPU power, a dirt cheap "storage VPS" in North America (BuyVM Nevada slice+storage... Servarica Canada deals...), too.
