Looking for 1 TB Storage for $36/annually

sgno1sgno1 Member

Need decent write and read speed, in Europe and unmetered bandwidth if possible. I'll be uploading at least 200 GB per month (could go over sometimes) and downloading around 50 GB per month (varies however).

Need it to be quite fast.

Is your price annual or monthly? Have a look at Hetzner storage boxes if monthly, else check the kimsufi server range - https://www.kimsufi.com/uk/servers.xml (4 euros is the cheapest but 500 GB)

Have you considered purchasing an external hard drive? Because for $36/annually it isn't economically feasible to allocate 1TB of storage, unmetered bandwidth, and performance, without operating at a loss.

Literally the most financially reasonable option for you would be purchasing an external hard drive. Consider increasing your budget unless you want to come back in a couple of weeks to complain about whichever host somehow meets this unrealistic expectation.

Backblaze would be a good fit for you if you upped your budget to $60/y

For $36/year with your requirement, i think its hard to find.
If you up your budget to $60 you can get 1TB from letbox @key900 might be able to help you with that.

Have you seen their pricing closely, they are not simple as $60 / year, you may end up paying lot more if not playing close attention.

I think you'd only get this by splitting an Office 365 with One Drive storage subscription with someone. Hit up your family.

  • Your budget is a bit low. Try to increase your budget or wait for BF storage discounts.

    Just go for Nexusbytes ( @seriesn ) or AlphaVPS ( @AlexBarakov ).

Both fit your budget and needs and are very reliable!

(As for the offer above, be sure to check other threads about them. I'm sure you wouldn't want to lose your data.)

You can check us out over at https://alphavps.bg/virtual-services/storage - 1TB is only 5EUR and we still have some stock left.

Keep an eye out for those sweet and limited 1TB deals from @cociu , from time to time.

They happen to be somewhat near $36/annually, right ?

I have one but disk speeds,

    dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 72.1532 s, 14.9 MB/s

If FTP Upload and WebGUI DL/hotlink DL is fine, grab 1Fichier for like 15€/year on sale. 2TB cold storage, unlimited Hot Storage.

    Thanked by 1bdspice
  • I don't think its viable ... comes down to 3 USD / month for 1 TB... its almost impossible for a company to make profit.
Its best if you could raise your budget.

I am very satisfied with such a low price. If you expect higher performance, you should pay more. : )

If it was 42 I wouldn't question it but it being < 20 is a problem

Q1: could you please give test-IPs to trace & check which datacenter would be best for me?
Q2: the annual price for "Vserver SSD-4G " 60€ is correct? Seems strange, compared to 25€/semiannual. I prefer yearly payment, but 2x25 is sure better than 1x60 :-)

Storage KVM line is Bulgaria based. It was quite a nice storage KVM with premium Level3 transit included.

I am sorry for the mislead there. We did have some in other places, but super limited stock and no longer available. My plans were to start deploying storage nodes in London, but as Corona hit, my travels were postponed, along with the new product lines. Probably end of Q3, by the looks of it, we'll have 3 more locations for storage VPS.

@vimalware thank you for the kind words!
