Cheap dedi/VPS near Korea?

edited May 2020 in Requests

Hello. I have been lurking on this forum for a while to see if there's any offer on machines near Korea, but it seems that there aren't many, so I decided to write a request myself. I am planning on doing various stuff on it for personal use like cloud, but also game server. So here are the requirements:

RAM: 16GB
CPU: 3GHz+
Budget: 30EUR (32.91USD) per month
Location: It doesn't have to be like right in Seoul, but just near enough to get decent ping out of it like less than 150ms in average because I may run game server on it.

I know budget's quite low, so I wouldn't mind if it missed a requirement except location, even if it is by a margin. I'd like to see some options, if there are any.

I did a quick test from our Los Angeles and San Jose location, it's almost 150ms to Korea.

So it's still possible within your budget, but it's not realistic to make it at Asia, US west is the only possible option.

Hello, i'm korean. Korean ISP(SLK)'s overseas connections are not good, so if you are looking for a game server for Koreans, avoid them abroad.

You do realize that all your VPS plans default to MK and there is no way to change to a different location, right?

What do you trying to archive? you showing final checkout step location select option is available on the first page

  • Vultr is going to add a Seoul location, and the pricing should be the same as their other locations. This is probably your best bet.

Just went to check out your prices on APAC VPS, and also to see for myself what's the issue that @t0ny0 mentioned above. And the screenshot is to point out that the ordering screen shows both Macedonia and Datacenter Hong Kong at the same time, which can be confusing for customers.

Vultr is going to add a Seoul location, and the pricing should be the same as their other locations. This is probably your best bet.

If Vultr prices and specs are fine for the OP, might as well start using their Japan location now, should be very close to Korea.

If 100mbit/s are enough, there is also g:corelabs with the HIGHCPU vps w/ 16 GB RAM at ~55 EUR per month. Vultr will surely be around 80 USD for 16 GB of RAM but probably faster network speed.

Even if SSDnodes pays you to buy their VPS, don't buy it.
SSDNodes is one of the worst providers. Fake RAM, fake CPU, fake disk, and Fake people.

Vultr and AWS Lightsail both have ~ 4GB of ram for your price.

You can also try to talk to the guy behind https://somagu.com/ to see if he can cut you a deal. They provide NAT VPS for a pretty cheap price.

  • zenkizenki Member

Like other replies, Vultr or AWS Lightsail will probably be your best choice

Given that you're reselling from amazon lightsail, I have no idea how you're able to sell at a lower price...
