Looking.House - free catalog of LG points for providers and webmasters
Looking.House is a catalog of Looking Glass points that can be used to test network functions (host, ping, traceroute, mtr) and download speed.
This is a convenient service for providers because they do not need to set up the point and administer it, all they need to do is provide a virtual server and we will take care of the set-up and support. Joining is free of charge and not legally binding for hosting providers in any way.
We currently have 213 points in 37 countries from 108 providers, but we are always happy to add new partners.
The project has a very simple structure: there is a page displaying a map with all available points that can be filtered by country.
Every provider that has submitted their VPS/VDS gets their own page showing information about all Looking Glass points of the company.
There is also a separate page for every point where you can see detailed information, download test files and execute network commands.
There is a simple version of the page on the IP address of every server. This page can be added on the provider’s website as a link, a frame or as a lg.hosting.com subdomain. We can slightly change the layout of this page if necessary by, for example, not showing the company name so that resellers could use the same page.
Right now we are working on making new features available to you, such as:
- executing commands from several points simultaneously;
- including points from more points (we welcome servers from the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Japan, Portugal, Serbia, Turkey, and South Africa);
- enhance customization for point pages.
We are interested in your feedback and suggestions on new features.
We would also like to thank those companies that have already provided servers for points to be set up.
We always welcome new companies to participate. All that we ask from a provider is a virtual server with the following minimum requirements: 5 GB disk space, 512 MB RAM, 600 MHz CPU. We will take care of the rest for you.
