  • Our Virtual Machines are powered by the Hetzner network. Happy to run any specific tests for you from here, just drop me a pm.

In case your are searching for a hetzner speedtest, how about searching (google) for a hetzner speedtest?

Your first result should be https://speed.hetzner.de/

  • here some provider i use and their latency from Pakistan its +-5
These are are from Lahore , from Karachi you can expect -10 less .

    Hetzner : 132
    Ovh Uk : 160
    Ovh Germany : 142
    Ovh France : 150
    Iomart Uk : 160
    Worldstream : 160

So technically hetzner was the lowest possible selection what i found for EU.
I myself using it for RDP and it works fine.

    No idea about India.

Yup I had checked it and it shows the Max speed of 500 - 600 kbps with my 6MBPS (although it is mostly less than 6) network. So how is it? And How much Network speed is attatched with Hetzner Cloud VPS?

  • https://prnt.sc/rqdiwp , i have 30mb Stormfiber

You have to enable icmp on your router level , most router disable it , alternatively you can ping hetzner ips
    i am using fsn1

Honestly quite fast considering the country and distance.

Instead, get a server with Prometeus in their Italy location. It will be about the lowest latency and highest throughput you are going to see to Lahore, Pakistan as they peer directly where the sea cables come in to Italy, so you basically are at the shortest distance you can reach on the other side of those sea cables.

You can test their looking glass at: http://lg-milano.prometeus.net/

I used a reverse proxy on their service for some time to provide good latency / throughput to a Pakistani site that I was helping maintain at one point and checked many networks trying to find what worked best. You may pay a little more than what Hetzner wants for a decent VPS but it will be worth it and their support is pretty stellar. Have been a happy customer of their's since 2012/03/02.

    my 2 cents.

    Cheers!

    No idea about India.

140-ish ms is about what I see from most Indian fixed line ISPs to German DCs incl Hetzner.

Upto 160ms if we're talking the worst case last mile latencies.

Western europe is better than the US. Middle east would be even better if affordable hosting was available there

You can see the submarine cables connect us to EU via ME:

    https://www.submarinecablemap.com/#/landing-point/karachi-pakistan

Pings to the far east are actually slower than to the EU

  • I know there are some vps and cloud hosts in India. E.g. Linode has stuff in Mumbai. They are much more expensive than Hetzner for anything sizeable though.

This is a good site too to test from different locations: https://tools.keycdn.com/ping and will help you decide if hetzner fits your needs.

Not what you asked, but I recently created a server on AWS Bahrain (for CSGO server) and I am getting low latencies like 30-50ms from Karachi (Connect ISP). You can try pinging 15.185.32.254 (http://ec2-reachability.amazonaws.com/) to check.

Yes Bahrain location is good for pakistan/India, I get 62ms ping from Mumbai. But they have only t3 instances in ME
