It's a hot mess right now, a bit surprised, they are usually more efficient than this.

    Agreed.

Thanks. Though my ticket has been open for two days with no action.
I understand you may have other priorities, but would be best to dedicate some more time to the tickets. We are trying to help reporting the bugs we find.

I have run the clean repo and jetapps -a command, no updates so far.
Do count on us to keep reporting you the bugs.

  • And if they spent time answering tickets someone would say- make a post then just fix the software. No matter how they respond someone will bitch. And when they are all done, someone will bitch that its too expensive. Or if its free, someone will say- charge a little bit so you can reply to tickets more promptly. Its a no win situation

Don't be an ass, this is a public alpha, the whole point is that they need the feedback from people that know DA better than they do and can give guidance. Much of that information is on the tickets they have been getting.

Got a reply today. Looks like they have been fixing stuff per the ticket reports indeed!

Shall try to update Jetbackup tomorrow.
The Germany server is running it almost flawlessly... 😁

Emails won't backup because its lacking the permissions to the folders. Should be easy to fix as their binary runs as jetapps user IIRC.

I got it running on a clean DA install, I think the issues, unlike cPanel, is that there are so many different customizations with DA that can lead to issues.

What is the backup schedule? Will ask my users to check it out and see if they spot anything.

Works on cloudlinux 7 as well

Using Cloudlinux some other version than 7 so we have to wait for more months or years to get a stable working version of @JetApps jetbackup :disappointed:

    Props to @JetApps,

We have reported several crucial bugs and were fixed today.
Minor bug reflecting to the suspended accounts shall be fixed soon. I offered help to get in touch with the DA guys to escalate the process.

Right now both servers are backing up properly.
Shall rebuild the backup server to RAID6 as I will need extra space.

We have reported 3 bugs to @JetApps which were preventing the plugin from completing the backups properly.

    1 - MySQL connection issues, not mapping the password properly, hence not backing up databases;
    2 - Incompatible MySQL queries, particularly with the users with plenty of hosts, added (external connections), some databases weren't being backed up;
3 - Bug in DA which was fixed by the DA Devs which was preventing the emails for suspended accounts to be backed up.

Right now, we've reported another situation where it's using way too much disk space for the backups we're running, hopefully they'll sort it too.

The latest updates were pushed due to our bug reports, so we like to think that we're somehow contributing to the QA.

@JetApps guys have been fantastic to us, with patches being shortly released and tested by us immediately. Thank you for your work guys.

This is why we're reporting bugs - they're very welcoming to it and did mention in their communication about the ALPHA. Community contribution/feedback with several, different scenarios, is how you can convert an ALPHA to BETA/Stable.

  • @MikePT and to everyone that is testing, reporting bugs and providing feedback to our team for the Alpha release of JetBackup for DirectAdmin, Thank you!

All feedback we receive is vital and helps our team identify bugs and release fixes faster, as we work towards our stable release. The DA community continues to be tremendously helpful throughout our development process as we continue to acclimate with DirectAdmin.

We look forward to hearing more from the community as we continue the development of JetBackup for DirectAdmin.

    Highest Regards,
    Anton, JetApps Team.

Any progress? As a CentOS 8 user we can't test @JetApps

  • Hi @ViridWeb,

Our team is rapidly pushing updates for JetBackup 5 (JetBackup for DirectAdmin) in no small part due to the continued testing, bug reports, and feedback we receive from our Alpha Testers.

We have a couple more milestones to hit before we could fully test and officially begin adding support for other operating systems. With that said, progress for CentOS 8 support is going along smoothly and our developers have laid the groundwork and began internal tests to ensure that once JetBackup 5 reaches the STABLE tier, Centos 8 Support on JetBackup for DirectAdmin will be added expeditiously. We will have a clearer ETA once we are closer to releasing JetBackup for DirectAdmin on STABLE.

We appreciate your continued support in our products and please stay tuned for announcements regarding JetBackup updates and release dates!

    Best Regards,
    Anton, JetApps Team.
