I've been with my current SG VPS for 4 years now, and it's coming up for renewal again. Want to check if there are good alternatives. My requirements:
- Singapore
- KVM preferred. OpenVZ 7 acceptable. OpenVZ 6 not acceptable.
- 1 CPU core
- 1 GB RAM
- 20+ GB hard disk (reasonable i/o performance, not hammered)
- More than 100Mbps uplink. 1 Gbps uplink preferred.
- 1 IPv4
- IPv6 availability preferred
- Reasonable transfer cap
For comparison, my current VPS is 1 Core, 1GB RAM, 40GB SSD, 1 Gbps uplink, 4TB transfer at 5.5 eur/mth, but it has been on openvz 6

You can try @HostDoc
Vultr has Sydney for $5/m, but it's 1TB BW and 25GB SSD. Not many better deals.
OVH SG is at €3+ IIRC for 2GB RAM 10GB SSD
Waiting on @HostDoc 's promo servers to restock on SG with better bandwidth.
You can check these options: https://www.serverhunter.com/?search=65B-DCB-19A
For overall reliability I've been reliant on my Leaseweb VPS https://www.leaseweb.com/cloud/virtual-server at 5 euros.
The downside is the contract and the customer support isn't the best. In addition, the disk is somewhat throttled ~80MB/s but the network and reliability is great.
Thanks all. Serverhunter's search is quite useful too.
Eventually seems like sticking with there's not much point changing... Realised that my current VPS is actually KVM already, lol, and that my Black Friday deal from years ago is actually still competitive.
Go with Leaseweb.
Leaseweb and Vultr have SG
usonyx.net (my ref)
Their upstream slow as balls
You could try binarylane in Perth, 40 ms to SG and $4 aud a month
OVH is prem
