OpenVZ7 vs KVM for low resource vps - Which one and why?

As the title mentions,
Hypothetically speaking, for a low resource VM with the same price point(Sub 10GB space, sub-1GB Ram, basic fair share CPU etc.), what would be your preferred virtualization? Why?

I would assume OVZ7 will have an advantage in terms of overall resource utilization while KVM gets the upper hand for true hardware-level virtualization. Thoughts?
