Cogent reached out offering SG/SYD IPv4 for lease. Leaving pricing aside, is there any reason I should / shouldn't go with them?

IIRC they charge a handling fee for every abuse report they receive which may become expensive (depending on how naughty your customers are)

They wont issue ROAs (at least that was the case ~2 years ago)

  • Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for a dedicated server or VPS and am considering options that can accommodate my needs. Specifically, I have leased an IPv6 /32 block from another service provider (rapidseedbox), and they have provided me with a Letter of Authorization (LOA) for the assignment.

I'm looking for a provider that can help me assign this IPv6 block to the server I purchase. Ideally, I’m interested in options featuring 8c/16GB or similar specifications, server location should be EU or ASIA with 1Gbps port and unmetered BW.

If you know of any providers that can assist with this process, please share your recommendations.

    Thank you!

Hello, We need to lease /24 subnets only from reputable providers, Please send me a dm with your offers.

  • RickBakkrRickBakkr Member, Patron Provider, LIR

    Hello,

I have two RIPE /24 subnets available. Please DM when interested. :-)

  • Hey, i privatly use a LIR with PA /44 and ASN without any problems since many years. Now the prices will rise a lot due to RIPE-Fee. What is a real fair offer for RIPE-ASN with PA /44 and a reliable LIR now?
Maybe i have to switch my LIR.

The ripe fee is 50EUR per asn per year.

So if you add some extra $ for currency conversation and another little to cover the multiple payment processing fees for the exchanging hands a bunch of times you’re looking at a minimum of $60 USD/year.

Now add a bunch more dollars (LIR depending) for the LIR to clip the ticket (after all chasing clients on invoices and having added financial risk doesn’t come free to a business) I would say you’re looking at a realistic minimum of 70USD per year per asn

Greetings. We need to purchase 1x /22 or 2x/23 subnets, preferably in the RIPE region, for faster transfer, as we're RIPE LIR.

For anyone interested in selling, feel free to send us your offer in DM.

Hey guys, I need ASN sponsoring, is there someone that offer this kind of service? I have my own ASN but my current sponsoring LIR has made the decision to stop sponsoring my ASN, without telling me first, and i got notified by RIPE about this.

Man, sponsoring an ASN, is just that.. adding my ASN under someones LIR, it doesnt need a premium or something als, because there is no maintenance or things to do to an ASN number, i manage my own stuff inside RIPE portal

I wouldn't be surprised if your old LIR that unexpectedly dropped your ASN sponsorship might have sent you an invoice for the year of 2025 and it was left unpaid or without client communication. Just my guess at least...

Unfortunately, gone were the days where ASNs had "no maintenance" or "things to do to an ASN" with the new RIPE annual fees of 50EUR/yr (plus transaction fee and man power around the involvement of billing and also added business risks the LIR being the middleman finically all of a sudden)

Expect any alternative LIR to charge you some sort of one-time "onboarding" fee for the time and efforts around the new sponsorship documents to submit and process, plus what ever yearly fee they deem to charge. My guess would be somewhere in the ball park of $70-$150 USD per year.

For a non exhaustive list, check out https://bgp.cheap/ looking for the "LIR Services" tag and see what others might be able to offer and at what cost.

What is the typical cost to get a /24 transferred?

@onidel said: What is the typical cost to get a /24 transferred?

Speaking for when we act as a broker ... this is usually part of the deal.

If you need assistance, and the respective RIR is RIPE (for the others we have only occasionally dealt with the transfer procedures), feel free to reach out in DM or create a ticket in our customer portal, happy to help - free of charge :-)

@onidel said: What is the typical cost to get a /24 transferred?

Assuming you are asking about the costs/fees involved with a transfer itself (as opposed to the "going rate" of a /24 on the market place) each RIR has different fee scheme

RIPE: No fees for the sender or for the receiver
ARIN: $500 USD fee for the sender only (https://www.arin.net/resources/fees/fee_schedule/)
APNIC: If done as in-RIR transfer, the reciever pays 20% of the annual fee, if the transfer is done as inter-RIR the sender pays that 20% (https://help.apnic.net/s/article/IPv4-Transfer-Fees)
