UK VPS with close to perfect connectivity

tester4tester4 Member
edited August 2019 in Requests

Hi there,

I am looking for a VPS within the UK, specifically London that has as close as possible to the best connectivity. Of course no network is going to be amazing to absolutely everywhere but I am looking for a premium provider with good connectivity to as many places as possible (Oceanic would be amazing).

Requirements:

200Mbps+ port
2TB of bandwidth
1GB of Memory
1 Core

I understand VPS providers using Zare are one of the best, any others you would all recommend?

Thanks

If you’re looking for premium, have a look at one of our Customers. We’re known for excellent network.

We have: Level3, NTT, GTT, Telia, Cogent, Zayo, TATA, Liberty Global (for premium access to Virgin and other LG networks), as well as peering at LINX LON1&2 and LONAP.

Unfortunately your network doesn't suit me very well for Oceanic as to Singapore you route out via LAX, trace below, anyway to improve that on your end? Otherwise I was going to go with a VPS company under you but yeah :(

Generally Telia would bring me out via Paris I believe so that may be something you could check. It nearly halves the ping by going out via EU than LAX.

Sadly Telia routes via NYC to this IP, and has some 30ms higher latency that NTT. You can confirm with their looking glasses.

I have changed this route to NTT, which, albeit it has the same as-path length gives better latency.

I can look at optimising the return route too, if you’d be as kind as to send me the mtr from you by PM

Thanks for that, funny how it's 100ms less latency just by using a better provider even if it's going the exact same route. Sending MTR across now.

it’s not necessarily better. Your ISP is a Customer of GTT, and chose to pick up traffic in the States instead to locally, as it’s probably much cheaper for them. Therefore it’s their choice this goes that way, not the transits.

  • Definitely premium connectivity with Clouvider -- it's why we are moving one of our primary file servers there.

Also, good on them for taking the time to educate. The public troubleshooting in this thread helped me learn to test different ISPs before bashing on the server provider.

More the fact I browse LET not logged in because I can't be bothered logging back in after I cleared my cookies. I've been browsing LET since 2014, and only registered in 2018.
