Hi @ll,

i want order a server for my company to host my own VPS.

My requirement (for 10 VPS)

  • 10 IPv4
  • 10 IPv6
  • 1 Gbit/s Traffic Flat
  • 16+ GB RAM
  • 2 TB+ Space
  • 2+ Disks (for Raid)
  • OS Proxmox 6.0 preinstalled

I have found the server RTR-A2 https://euserv.com/en/dedicated-server/rtr-server/ on my current hoster (euserv).

The specs are

  • 20 IPv4
  • 20 IPv6
  • 20 IPv6 /64 Networks
  • 1 Gbit/s Traffic
  • 2 * 2 TB Space

Do somebody know a provider that have the same specs for lower money? OR better specs for the same price ?

SoYouStart have only 250 Mbit/s traffic, 16 IP's and is a little bit more expensiv.

That AMD server has little to none CPU power.

Hetzner auction has plenty of deals every day/week.
    SoYouStart is actually 500Mbps.

  • stefeman i have checked the CPU. The server has 6x2800 MHz. I think this is enough for 10 VPS ? I have take a look on Hetzners auction. Currently there i no matching Server :(.

    Hi FoxelVox,

thank you for your suggestions. I have checked them

    https://www.worldstream.nl/en/dedicated/special/info
have 100 Mbps traffic per default that's less than the offer

    https://www.hetzner.com/sb
here i have found a matching server but i have not found details about the IP's. Do you know how much IP's inclusive ?

    https://servdiscount.com/
here i cannot find details about Trafic and IP's . Do you know how much IP's inclusive ?

    https://oneprovider.com/dedicated-servers/paris-france
here i have found a nice server but the server ist sold out :( . Here are not visible how much IP's inclusive ...

    https://www.ikoula.com/en/dedicated-server
the AGILE servers have less ram and cpu cores or more expensive. So this is not an option.

    https://www.soyoustart.com/en/
Servers start with 42 Euro and the Bandwith is 250 Mbps(Source: https://www.soyoustart.com/en/).

this search is frustrating -.- . But 1K thank's for your help.

No. A single subnet is sufficient and common.

    • 1 Gbit/s Traffic Flat

Do you really need to push about 350 TB per month?

    • 16+ GB RAM

That might be a bit tight, depending on what those VPSs will be used for.

    • OS Proxmox 6.0 preinstalled

That demand will severely limit available choices. You want to run and manage Proxmox, so you should be able to install it yourself.

    I have found the server RTR-A2 ...

    The specs are

    • 20 IPv4

No. It says 20 IP addresses "free of monthly charge". That may mean what you understand it to mean but it may also mean 1 fixed IP plus 19 IP that change from time to time (e.g. monthly). It might mean even something uglier.

Plus, you may want to not have all your VPS in public IP space.

    • 20 IPv6 /64 Networks

That's pure nonsense, and frankly I think it's a sales trap for less experienced customers.

Do somebody know a provider that have the same specs for lower money? OR better specs for the same price ?

No, if alone for the fact that you mentioned no price. The price for that RTR-A2 changes quite a bit depending on contract term and payment mode.

That said I doubt that you'll find many offers with 10 (let alone 20) IP4 and 1 Gb/s unlimited. Certainly not for about 30€/month.

One more hint for you: I know the Phenom T1055 well, I have used it, but it's a 6 core no SMT processor and frankly not a processor I'd like for a dedi. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big AMD fan but at that time (back then) intel had a a lot of better processors for a dedi.
I'd strongly suggest to go for a dedi with an (older) intel Xeon.

    Hi @ll,

@ITLabs thank you for the info. That means i pay 13.45 per month additional only for IP(https://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/IP-Adressen/en#IPv4_addresses) ^^ . I think Hetzner is no option too.

    @jsg

'No. A single subnet is sufficient and common.'

I don't need a subnet. I kneed only IP's for my VPS. My VPS should be public reachable via IPv4 and IPv6.

'Do you really need to push about 350 TB per month?'

I think 1 Gbit/s is good for a hostnode. I search for a better server or a better price.

'That might be a bit tight, depending on what those VPSs will be used for.'

Why ? I have calculatet 2GB per VPS with overbooking enabled.

'No. It says 20 IP addresses "free of monthly charge". That may mean what you understand it to mean but it may also mean 1 fixed IP plus 19 IP that change from time to time (e.g. monthly). It might mean even something uglier.

I have asked their sales team. They write the ip have no monthly fee and will not change, currently there is no onetime fee too. Means the IPs are currently completly inclusive.
And yes i want to have public IP for all my VPS

That's pure nonsense, and frankly I think it's a sales trap for less experienced customers.

That means i can assign a /64 IPv6 subnet to my VPS. I think not required but a nice feature.

I have currently on of the free VPS that are hostet on a Server with this CPU and its ok.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I think i stop searching and use the server.

1000 thanks to the lowendtalk community!!!
