  • TCP acceleration? an acceleration that works in transport layer?

I'm not sure if your technology is a true transport layer acceleration or just a kind of CDN

If your company is only based in China renting dedicated servers globally to provide this TCP acceleration, It doesn't seem to be a good idea because you are trying to tell people that all their TCP handshakes can be securely done within your system while the rest of the world don't trust Chinese like they don't trust the U.S since PRISM any more. I know your company in China because I'm Chinese too. The Chinese market might be interested in this, however internationally .... umm... good luck...

    It is not a cdn.
It will install to your server and to change TCP congestion control.
    thank you.

It seems like there's some code that sits in the kernel. It is proprietary and doesn't seem like it's widely used. They call it zeta TCP

Sorry I checked out the tests you have set up and didn't notice much of a difference.

There isn't much to gain, except in specific circumstances.

  • Can you give an explanation of what this software is/does?

It tries to optimize TCP congestion avoidance

Basically, a client determines the rate at which data is sent to the server based on what the server tells the client (directly or indirectly). Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Additive_increase/multiplicative_decrease for an example.

Right, so what does it do though, is it just a script that changes sysctl variables? Is is a kernel module etc?

Read all of the links people have posted. It's modified TCP stack using different algorithm's in order to increase efficiency, thus accelerating TCP overall.

    Ture
