Best practice for null routing?

bob1bob1 Member
edited June 2019 in Help

Can people share any tips on the best ways to null route an IP?

I am assuming you have to add the BGP black hole community for each upstream you are connected to (which all seem to be ASN:666). Or is there a better way?

Comments

  • You tag the specific IP with the blackhole communities, and also discard any received traffic for the IP.

It’s in the manual from your upstreams. Each Can have a different process for that, I.e. Cogent is special for example. You consult the upstreams, not the forums.
