If you are ok with a temporary custom solution, please feel free to open a support ticket at wishosting.com

Basically, I can increase the storage space of KVM Storage CA package to 6TB+ since there is some free space on the nodes.

@exception0x876 can we expect any coupon codes coming up due to the extra free space? :)

    Background

I am planning on converting from an HDD RAID5 array to an SDD RAID 10 array. I currently have ~5.4 TB on 3xTB drives with LVM.

I am also upgrading the mobo to handle a direct transfer of data (2 raids on the machine) due to more SATA ports.

    Request

Based on this, I need a deal on a short term VPS server in which I can store my raid disk image.

I am rounding the requirement up to 6 TB to be simple. I would prefer SSD, but the cost is the priority. I have looked at DO/AWS and similar but it seems very high for temporary use.

Oh, and bandwidth would be 6-12 TB most likely. I guess an unmetered server would work, just need the transfer to not have me sitting on my ass for 2 days :P. I have fiber internet anyways.

    Other

While I, of course, know I don't need to use a VPS server if I can transfer direct, I am making a backup of things before I start.

    Timeline

I do not have an immediate need, as I am at the planning stage, but getting my ducks in a row, so-to-speak.

    Thanks :)

you'd better to lease dedicated server to storage. No guys provide huge disk on VPS.

@geek2009 did you even read this thread? Your recent posts seem a bit spammy. I flagged one in another thread.

Perhaps you might take a break and reconsider how you participate here?

I believe you could do much better if you are so inclined. You could be strong on plow, and post superior potassium!

May I please be assured that you will kindly do the needful to improve the quality of your posting output? Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter!

  • Must be able to withstand daily 3.6 roentgen exposure from superior potassium, strength on plow potatoes in field must be strong.

I got the USB drive already but that would be ~50 for 2 days. Bit expensive I think.

  • Maybe backblaze? i have heard they are pretty good but not verified

now only wait 23 more days...

The move has gone well with a few bumps I won't make a long story about (nothing ever goes perfect).

I have setup LUKS on the raid and get about 1.2 GB/s write and ~800 MB/s read. It is raid 10 with 6x https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nF8j4D/crucial-mx500-2tb-25-solid-state-drive-ct2000mx500ssd1.

Total cost was around $2100. IMHO well worth the investment as my computer has yet to lock up (and me twiddling my thumbs for 10 min), and I have instant file listings in large folders that used to take up to 30 seconds to seek.

Hope this helps anyone else. My next investment is probably maxing out to a thread ripper 32 core and 128 GB RAM. But that's not anytime soon.
