standing by your product (45-Day Money Back:) Nice one
I've purchased 2 1gb kvm's lets see how they go. thanks for the offer
Hi , (1) provided 1xIPv4's PTR/rDNS, & provided /64 IPv6-subnet's any IPv6-address's PTR/rDNS , both can be set/unset via your control Panel ?
(2) does your Panel have API support ? so that PHP-script(s)/etc which are running inside the VPS only , can set/unset PTR/rDNS or find current value/info on PTR/rDNS of provided IPv4 or any IPv6-address (from the provided /64 IPv6-subnet).
Hi!
For number 1, yes you can manage IPv4 and IPv6 rDNS from within the control panel.
For number 2, no, unfortunately, there is not an API available for managing rDNS. I apologize for this.
Thank you for the question. Let me know if I can answer anything else for you.
Thanks for your response, and your VPS services.
As you said "We own our hardware running in a Philadelphia datacenter..."
i do have one more question + request:
as your Panel does not (YET) have API service/functionality , then will you please add/include 2 lines of DNS codes in your ( or in your upstream-provider's ) dns-server ? for any of these KVM VPS deal.
( add 1 line of NS dns-record in the reverse-zone of the /64 IPv6 where NS is pointing to the nameserver running inside the VPS , & add another line for CNAME where CNAME is pointing to the /64 IPv6 range itself . if you agree i will send you those 2 lines of codes, then you can suit/adjust further. )
( NOTE : VPS (virtual-private-server) , is a SERVICE-instance, & provided /64 IPv6 resource, etc, all remains with you (VPS-Provider) , inside your own DataCenters/Servers . A remote Client/Customer/User with access to that VIRTUAL-server in your premise , cannot take the provided service/resource away from you & move into another VPS/location . So those 2 lines of DNS codes are NOT A REAL DELEGATION or SUB-DELEGATION , you did not transfer control of your service+resource to another person/entity who can or able-to move-away from you with your resources, into another location . Adding those 2-lines of DNS codes are just a temporary attachment of a service+resource for the sake of providing service for a VPS(virtual-server) which remains with you in your own DataCenters/Servers . But we named it "DELEGATE" for the convenience , but in reality no real TRANSFER occurred , no real DELEGATION . You are merely providing/adding few service(s)+resources in your VIRTUAL-server SERVICE-instance inside your own DataCenters/Servers, for a remote Client/Customer/User )
Has anyone determined for sure whether @atErik is a human or a bot?
DeepTroll evolving to the next level, I dunno.
@atErik really, with all due respect - what do you expect a provider to accommodate for $2 per month?
Also - would want to know - why do you need this level of rDNS for your IPv6 ?
Would there perhaps be something having to do with email ?
beep boop rdns ip
just a friendly heads up for @launchvps and reminder for @atErik (quoted from a previous thread)
apologies for diverting this sales thread - for what it's worth my (limited) experience with @launchvps support is that they are responsive, effective, and even at times proactive. (They were the first of my current providers - as far as I can tell - to apply a patch for the latest intel hyperthreading vuln.)
I really wouldn't want to see them get burnt out on dealing with too much low-end BS.
What the hell is wrong with you copy pasting, and doing all this stuff?
@PieHasBeenEaten @atErik Is at it again lol.
@launchvps Glad to see y'all again
Going to place a order with you guys.
@uptime I just have a feeling Erik wants to do something illegal lol
it does feel just a bit like reading a "Nigerian Prince needs help to transfer funds" email ... on mescaline.
(from yet another thread)
Agreed. I don't have any servers with them but they're on my list to try from the couple interactions I've had with them here.
6 hours in and all is good, vps set up for my purpose, terminal is nice and snappy, no lag like some of the cheap hosts on here, half decent ping from AU. Happy customer so far!
Bench pls?
@cybertech sorry I should have done that

Much appreciated!
@aneki and @cybertech - I believe you could see significantly improved i/o speeds via some tuning - see https://cp.launchvp.com/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/20/KVM-Tweaks-for-Debian-and-Ubuntu.html
Note that the change to sysfs.conf assumes disk is named /dev/sda
(some discussion from an earlier thread here)
EDIT2:
After making the changes - writing to LVM on LUKS I saw better than 350 MB/s sequential write speed, while tests by @launchvps on Debian 9 wrote straight to an unencrypted partition at something like 700 MB/s, sometimes better than 800 MB/s
