What should I choose from this list of cheap and performant US based dedicated servers?

Christ is Risen! Hello!

I am searching for cheap dedicated servers to host some websites, in USA. I found, searching on LET and on the web some providers which I am listing here (this could be also considered a list with low cost US servers):

  • Datawagon (8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Dual Xeon L5320, 1Gbps) $19
  • Nocix (16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Dual Intel Xeon 5150, 100TB BW, 1Gbps) $22
  • Dr Server (16GB RAM, 2TB, Intel® Atom™ C2750, 100mbps unmetered) $20
  • Dacentec (8GB RAM, 2TB, Opteron 1214, 10TB BW, 1Gbps) $20 or (16GB RAM, 2xL5420 CPU) $25
  • Wholesale internet (4GB RAM, 250GB, Intel Core 2 Duo, 100mbps unmetered) $10 (or the other plans which are same as Nocix)
  • Reliablehostingservices.net (8GB RAM, 1.5TB, Intel Q9550 (2.83 GHZ x 4) [or other cpu types at same price], 5TB BW, 100mbps) $20
  • Kimsufi (16GB RAM, 2TB, Intel i7-920, 100mbps) $18
  • Inxy - Server4You (16GB RAM, 4TB, AMD Opteron, 100mbps) $28
  • Rebelhosting.net (8GB RAM, 1TB, Intel i3 3.0Ghz 540, 10TB BW, 100mbps) $22
  • Dedispec (8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, AMD Qualcomm 3GHz, 100TB BW, 1Gbps) $25
  • PSYCHZ (4GB RAM, 500GB, Atom D525, 30TB, 100mbps) $25
  • Dedimax (8GB RAM, 500GB, AMD Quadcore 3GHz, 100mbps) $28
  • Volumedrive.com (4GB, 250GB, AMD Athlon X2 4200+, 8T BW, 100mbps) $20
  • Unrealservers.net (4GB RAM, 160GB, Intel Core 2 Duo, 20TB BW) $21

The price is per month in USD. Where not specified, the disk is HDD.

Which one company do you consider provides the best service? I mean: seriosity, performance, network, uptime, support (regarding server related issues such as network problems, hardware problems etc).

How good are these services compared to the expensive ones? (I don't mean managed support, 101% SLA or other such things, but strictly related to the server, network, uptime)

Thank you all, very much!

What are you running? I would not do even basic wordpress with a c2d/atom..

    Also skip dedimax/volumedrive probably

If volumedrive is on your list you haven't done the basic research necessary (here on LET even).

  • Seems like you copied a pretty old list of server providers from reddit, no?

might also check with quickpacket if you're looking for seriosity of network uptime service.

in January of this year they offered an i3 530 with 8 GB ram / 1 TB HDD in Los Angeles for $25 a month - not sure if something like that deal might still be available, might check with @qps or @jar

An important question remains: what applications are going to be imposed on these little dedis ?

Dacentec isn't bad except old panel and old server. More choices since you are aiming for USA.

  • They sent me a billing email about 2 months ago, so there are people there. I used to have 15 dedicated with them :)
Again, the OP better try other providers on the list first.

You're right... I have not searched about volumedrive and unrealservers. I found them while writing the post. Thanks!

  • Thank you very much! I think try NOCIX and Dacentec

Will host some PHP website (custom software, not a cms). I would like to avoid Core 2 Duo and Atom, but posted these offers here as I really need some reliable servers under $30. Thanks!
