OpenVZ with VmWare support.. is it possible?
Need help...
My friend has a VMWare VMDK image running RedHat Enterprise Server 5.5. It is a pre-configured image running Xserver. It runs perfectly fine with VMWare player on my desktop.
Can I get this image mounted on my openvz VPS? If yes, will i be able to access the GUI Desktop? How?
Please help

If you wish hard enough...
Phew.. I am too tired now... LOL
Thanks @serverian
Unrelated question...
How can I get "mouse" support on Hyper-V that is running GuestOS (RHES 5.5)? I installed Linux Integration Services 2.1 ISO. Hyper-V is unable to capture mouse-inputs...
Any pointers?
It's working for me now thanks!
Yes, but this question:
makes me think it's not going to be a process I can explain to you.

Can you share some insights on how to mount on my openvz? Thanks
I believe once this is loaded, I can access it via VNCviewer?
Why don't you just get a vmware VPS?

ask them I'm sure they will restore your image for you.
I already have a spare openvz vps... from BlueVM.. thought I could use it.

well I wish you luck with it..
if vnc was installed and running on the OS then yes..
A virtualized environment within a virtualized environment, inception much? Anywyas I'm pretty sure you'll be able to do that, and accessing the desktop should be as easy as installing a VNC server and opening a session.
The problem is: OpenVZ isn't virtualization. It's a container system to throw some walls behind resources known to the kernel. All capabilities like VT are not passed to the userspace, thus impossible in OpenVZ.
Regarding Inception, you'd need to enable nested virtualization. No provider would do that considering you could very easily use A LOT of CPU power.
Well, now that you say that, I suppose I could help you do it. PM me and I'll get on it.
