Provider with the best network in germany (low latency)?
I'm searching currently for a provider in Germany, which has one of the best networks available. My friend has a shitty provider in Germany and like to setup a VPN, which also lowers his latency to gameservers. During my research i came to:
23media (only b2b)
core-backbone (b2b, but should be available through combahton)
leaseweb frankfurt
netcup (anexia, backbone europe)
Hetzner is out of question, because their traffic mix is to cheap. DDOS protection would be good too.
It doesn't have to be the cheapest option out there. Feel free to post recommendations!

We have both Core-Backbone and RETN connected, which are one of the largest Tier-2 Carriers in Europe. So quality shouldnt be an issue ;-)

Hetzner has a premium option that will route your traffic to core-backbone, but you will have to pay per /TB, if you don't do a lot of traffic that is acceptable

Which datacenters? And what CPU and server brand currently used for new deployments?
Not an option, because only on colo/dedicated servers. Also double paid in Germany is only useful for DTAG.
Both Interxion and Interwerk in Frankfurt
We work with 23media and very happy with them
hetzner is good if you don't need a good ddos protection and no dtag traffic (vps)
23media has a tiny but good network, but ddos protection is over voxility and crap
leaseweb premium network is ok-ish but no real ddos protection
netcup network is good, but the ddos protection is crap
combahton has core-backbone and retn as upstream, also inhouse ddos-protection which is really good like ovh game or firstcolo fullmitigation.
php-friends is on first-colo's network with own filter patches.
go for combahton or php-friends
