PayPal charge for refund 2.9%
Probably there was a thread for that news, but again:
https://www.techspot.com/news/79545-paypal-new-refund-policy-has-sellers-up-arms.html
Also, transferring money to another country will no longer have a flat fee, instead PayPal are introducing a variable fee of 5%, with a minimum and maximum cost of $0.99 and $4.99, respectively.
PayPal has said that anyone who disagrees with any of their new terms is free to close their account.
These suckers are going into war with their clients, literally.

monopol ?
Sad reality. Musk made PayPal and it skyrocketing till today.
Guess it’s time for sellers to give discounts on alternative payment methods. Don’t see the big problem here.
Make it clear on your website why you have chosen to make the discount unavailable to PayPal and most will go for the lower price in the end.
Tons of bad storys out there about frozen and locked accounts.
lol , or time to increase the service price no ?
Do you mean they are shooting them, or that you don't understand what "literally" means?
Will PayPal rank u lower or make problems if u offer discount on other mode of payment?
It's against their rules to denounce them in favor of competitors. They will put hold on you. Be very careful.
Any lawyers here who can comment on the legality of this TOS?
It doesn't seem very free market to me
Too Big To Fall.
They are just accelerating their demise.
Put it back where it belongs 'alternative payment methods'.
The bigger retail companies are already a step ahead of the digital market and are looking into alternatives such as Masterpass. It's small online shops and the digital market which fails to transit to alternatives after the whole crypto payment market went poof due to unpredictability of cryptocurrency.
One way around this is to offer a voucher code, "valid when paying with stripe/whatever" with no mention of paypal.
Misleading title, they are not charging for refunds, what they are doing is not refunding the commission on a completed sale if for whatever reason all or part of the sale is refunded. The flat fee element was never refundable.
For hosting, if you need to increase the price due to this change it more likely means you refund often, that is more about your business model not working.
I like the attitude and premise of your message but I see this differently.
Masterpass was a broken mess last time I used it. I don't know how MasterCard could mess up so much the only thing they do, but let's assume they sorted bugs out since then.
Volatility of cryptocurrency is the excitement and danger for investors and those who use crypto for crypto sake as a replacement for fiat. If you use crypto as transaction means it's volatility plays little role since it's only a transport. There are different challenges like legal acceptance, ease of use and more but long term change of prices is not one of them.
Even ebay is getting rid of Paypal, so they are desperate to milk market while they still have it.
We dropped Crypto after testing it for 3 months. Too much of a pain in the ass to handle and it was easier for us to get customers to register with new services such as Massterpass by offering coupons then to hope the customers gets bitcoins from god knows where to pay us not to mention to turn all that stuff back into fiat to pay bills and taxes.
That's against PayPal TOS.
This is also illegal in the EU under PSD2
Well I think that would make it more appealing than making PayPal 150% the price like 1Fichier does iirc (which scared some clients away).
This is all handled automatically by most payment processors like BitPay and Stripe. We have a lot of clients who pay with bitcoin but we've always converted it to USD during payment instead of actually accepting the bitcoins.
Same here amigo don't want a market crash phucking with my dinero
PeePal?
this is real troublesome considering the fees they charge
