Need nvme on nyc

Hello.

I need a nvme vps ( 20gb storage min) on NYC for a postgres server. I think it doesn't need to be high on ram (no intensive database use).

Pls recommend providers.

    BuyVM?

EDIT: Must it be exactly New York City? (No New Jersey / Buffalo)

EDIT2: I believe BuyVM also provide VPS in NYC

    Also might check HostHatch

    EDIT2:

And - if nearby New Jersey is acceptable - alphaVPS.bg

(not sure if they offer NVMe at that location yet)

    Thanked by 1sirluis

@FAT32 I think the BuyVM "slab" storage (currently only in Las Vegas) is NVMe-cached while the KVM "slice" offerings (in NYC and elsewhere) are SSD but not NVMe?

I don't believe that it necessarily makes a significant difference, but if it does then HostHatch might be the best place to start (as far as I'm aware)

I believe you are right, I mistaken the BuyVM Slab NVMe cache as NVMe SSD. Need confirmation from @Francisco

  • In any event, https://buyvmstock.com is useful for getting notification for when buyVM has stock available (usually around the 1st of each month). NVMe or not, I think they do indeed have the good stuff for database applications.

Alphavps .bg offers only openvz in US right?

That seems to be the case - location options for KVM are London and Sophia

@AlexBarakov could confirm (and maybe let us know if any plans to roll out KVM and NVMe in any USA locations at some point?)

We do, but they aren't NVME, just SSD.

Hah, what an era we live in. "Just SSD" at lowend.

Fran, shame on thee. People like you spoil the kids.

I'll show you my 5200 RPM 128MB cache if you show me yours.
