go cloud baby - nothing can beat the cloud
Yes, I have tested clouding.io but their price/cpu is too high.
give a budget and maybe tell exactly what are you doing!
you will find a lot of good offers if you do the above.
meanwhile
Looking to hosting a reverse proxy nginx firewall, budget maximum 25€/per month
with that budget you''l find plenty of choices.
hmm - reverse proxy nginx firewall - what is the firewall part?
http://vddos.voduy.com/
We have intel Gold 6128 in Dallas with dedicated RAM and a 10gbps network port.
Would that location be suitable?
+1 for HostDoc ... they will support you.
That's good as specs/price but I don't think that will handle, it's not cloud
Hold up.
Before you continue, please EXACTLY define what you think is "cloud".
What is "cloud" to you?
Pop a pill and that's cloud.
May be Xeon Diamond would help you .....
Deep dig the internet, you may get one.....
Cloud is just another meaningless overused buzzword.
Has to be water cooling
Where's OVH?
Go with contabo it will be best within ur budget
Cloud is just someone else's computer, nothing more, nothing less.
Private cloud can be your own computer.
Cloud could be
CPU in the north Russia
Memory and NVMe served from South Korea
Bandwidth everywhere
For me, cloud is something you can deploy and destroy to your heart content. e.g. ArubaCloud, Vultr, DO, Google, Amazon, Leapswitch, and similar service. Flat Rate monthly / annually VPS doesn't deserve to be called cloud.
Would a resource pool count towards that?
True I suppose. Nextcloud is marketed as such.
This just adds to the whole cloud mess though. In my opinion it's a marketing gimmick. A lot of management types with little technical experience will want to be in the cloud just because their competitors are, so it's obviously going to be a good money spinner for some.
Resource pool could be a semi-private cloud. However you still need to pay for resources you may not use.
Assuming you have unused resources, very true. Idle resources are great for the environment lol
I guess OP is a victim of marketing.
First hint -> "if possible something xeon gold or platinum"
Second hint -> He obviously fell for the cloud marketing fairy tale of "it's idling, maybe for months, at extremely low cost, but once you need the power, tens or hundreds of cores will jump into action, plus massive resources, and all of that for low cost because you pay only what you use"
Third hint -> vdos
@TerensM
A "web firewall" is not about "xeon gold or platinum". Plus, even those expensive processors can't compensate for the idiocy of Python in such an application. Also note that DOS is a whole group (and a large one) of attacks; the same is true for DDOS.
If "use vdos on Xeon Gold" really magically protected web sites, there would be hundreds of Cloud%§$#s by now.
Good luck anyway with your adventure.
