EDIT2.
Which exact i7 model has that $30/month server?
Please check KVM SSD Plus LA package, it is "just" 4 cores and the port is not gigabit, however, the density is pretty low (8 VMs per node which is dual CPU). I can bump the SSD space to 100GB - https://www.wishosting.com/order/main/packages/VPS/?group_id=2
Probably
That being said, 2010 CPUs are pretty decent.
I agree.
EDIT2:
I wrote this on a Xeon E5620 from 2010.
Probably Kimsufi?
Core i7 920 lol..
Nocix?
Why don’t you split your own dedi into KVM twice the ram and disk?
For a provider it’s not just as simple as the cost of the dedi, you have to factor other costs as well staff, support, etc
4790K
Cause I'm hoping to let the dedi go and save some costs as I don't need the full spec machine
8Cores + 8GB for $18 / month...
LOL... Must be good profit for the provider
Vortexnode
I would just keep the dedi at $30/m. Dedicated cores, ram, disk, etc. Seems a no-brainer to me. You won’t save much by moving to a VPS.
Certainly a possibility but wanted to test the waters and see what's up
I'm not asking for dedicated cores so I don't see what's the big deal
If you say it is then you must be flooded with offers.
Cheers !

why not purchase the same dedicated server and do it yourself?
nah
Also, my requirements are clearly achievable: https://www.hyperexpert.com/
Their location just doesn't work for me, too far off into the west coast
Thanks, it's a good offer but I'm looking for east coast, preferably. Thought I mentioned that in the original post, guess not.
Low density, ultra budget, hmmm that’s the dead pool equation right there.
Hi . Can you tell which host provide core i7 4790k for 30$ , I'd like to buy dedi
No mention of low density
In my opinion, just keep your dedi and call it a day, if you want to split hairs over the node density and demand it at a low price just because you believe it can be done. Other than that, why don't you shell out and try some other providers yourself and see what's up that way? Being unrealistic with your expectations is only going to end badly for you and whatever host you end up with next, in my opinion.
SYS, flash sale some time ago.
And yeah I'll just keep the dedi.
Pay more.
And eat less.
