Nice, when you can't defeat someone with arguments, move to the personal level.
Godwin law about to kick in?
You can find decoded version of WHMCS even on GitHub!
Yeah, that's amazing.
Anyone noticed the last post? WHMCS contacted him.
I cannot understand how WHMCS isn't more motivated to conduct a full scale audit of their software at this point. What an amazing liability...
What if he passes out baseball bats, points to the guy's window and says "this bat breaks that window, have fun!"
That has to share some significant responsibility in the window being broken. Of course I blame whmcs too, but that just means I blame 2-3 parties.
The fact a baseball bat can break the window is well known by quite a few people, many dont need to be told, by saying it to every joe, dick and harry he forces some measures to be taken.
Anyway, many people attacked me and tried to link Prometeus to make their point some even tried to force uncle to kick me, but usually I dont reply to attacks from people which cant even spell company's name.
Besides, unlike others, I do not use my account here to post signatures on all threads, I am registered here many months before joining prometeus. In WHT I am registered since 2006 and never worked for a provider before.
Fair enough, it seems like the guy sparks fairly mixed opinions. They all seem to have valid points. I can't argue that whmcs would address a flaw without the script, because I've watched them ignore and deny flaws in the past.
When you think Solus did the same and even worse, IIRC, you come to understand the guy/gal.
I am localhost.re!
CONSPIRACY
Really, if you believed that... *facepalm*
Based on the crappy quality of the coding, it's entirely possible they weren't trying to hide anything and didn't know there was a problem until it was pointed out to them.
If WHMCS is an accessory then shouldn't website owners who put 3rd party code on their sites without understanding the code or doing a security audit of the code before deploying it in a production environment also be considered accessories? :P
Thank you for reminding me that I forgot to add my signature spam to my posts. Added :P
Ha, so you are the localhost guy !
Regarding the accessory part, well, many people use windows and that has also a lot of backdoors, some put intentionally, should they be considered accessories too ?
We are using the product in good faith, while WHMCS repeatedly denied problems until exploits started to be posted.
