Load average?
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
I am back with another problem.
Right now I am compiling a kernel on the host and one in the vm at the same time.
Load average is around 8 as we speak.
Should I be worried?
(CPU is a quad core xeon, HT disabled.)

Obviously the correct answer is "GNU/Gustav".
Reason: 4 GNU/Xeon cores, each with 2 GNU/HT = 8 GNU/threads ~ GNU/load 8

No, it isn't. if it were, it would be GNU/disabled - but he mentioned only an invalid "disabled"
If "$7" had been provided as an option a discussion might be adequate. But it wasn't and from the available options only "Gustav" makes sense.
Linus should have listened to Prof. Tanenbaum. But he didn't and now we have those weird problems like load numbers that aren't divisible by 7.

Check in top to see the io wait, that can often make your loads high when the CPU is basically idle
