I noticed really good disk i/o on the subnetlabs 150 GB in Seattle, which is why they came to mind.
@uxtvdl - CrownCloud Frankfurt has fast network as well as excellent disk i/o. (But if you really want storage in Amsterdam then HostHatch has a nice setup there - normal price is $20 per TB monthly.)
@SpeedBus stacked storage KVM looks like a pretty decent deal in LA. If I understand correctly - matching/exceeding OP's request for 4 TB storage, with 4 GB ram, and 4 shared cores would come out to $32 per month. (And I'm now seriously tempted to stack up a 2 TB / 2 GB / 2 shared core for $16 ...)
