Small story, they were a brand of YouHosting.com which was owned by Hostinger.com. YouHosting used to provide unlimited free reseller hosting, without the need of any knowledge. No WHMCS or anything, they operated with their own systems back in 2011-2014.
GrendelHosting did recieve a lot of free clients with YouHosting, they soon opened another reseller using some other company reseller's plan[more stable than YouHosting].
When shit started going bad in YouHosting[downtime and errors, 2014 if i recall.] they started moving most of Grendel's host clients to InfinityFree[The new brand using some reseller of some more stable company].
Most of profits were through ads.
When YouHosting was no longer stable and there were no plans by Hostinger.com to work on that project, Grendel closed up and moved entirely in InifinityFree.
