What is Automatic VM Failover? And am I billed for turned off instances? And what do you mean by offline hours are not applicable?

It means if the hypervisor/node which your VM is on fails, it will automatically hot migrate your VM to a spare hypervisor. It's "Cloud" and we mean it.

And am I billed for turned off instances? And what do you mean by offline hours are not applicable?

For promotional plans, yes you are still billed for servers kept offline. However, on our default plans ordered via the website, you only will be charged for disk and IPs when the VM is offline.

The billing articles on https://help.cloudcone.com/en-us/article/how-billing-works-for-promotional-plans-19bj5lr/ will help you get an idea regarding how the hourly billing works for the above plans

    right question:
there seems to be (in CP) no option for boot from ISO, PXE boot also disabled unfortunately :-/

I've asked this question at least once before (in @Cloudcone's BF/CM thread), but no reply so far. I guess that the answer is no.

    and END.... because: SSH disconnected...

SAN SSD & cloud nodes running so fast as my USB flashdrives... :-O

apologize, and really sorry that must say it but: disaster....

Well, I retract my question, not only because the provider can't be bothered to reply, but also because the results posted by others aren't encouraging.

My only question has anyone actually opened a ticket to make the provider aware?

It doesn't replace a ticket, but since @Cloudcone last visited LET very-very recently, he has probably seen this (his) thread.

  • Tried frosty for a bit and it was much better then, maybe they will fix this

    @PieNotEvenEaten said:
My only question has anyone actually opened a ticket to make the provider aware?

my answer on this quest is NO
    explanation:
when i bought VPS as first at any provider yet only for test them (as now) then:

when i found VPS offline, down, unaccessable or abnormal slow working/degraded, then i wait how long time spent when provider is able check it (any issue occurs - that his nodes does not work well or haves serious issues)...

and my experiences then are (note: i speak my personal opinion, good providers personal/subjective definition = mean u dont must agree w me of course):

    1) TOP providers = stable and skilled providers haves no outages long long time, or ever.. but/and if any unexpected occurs, they are able found issue as first and fix it within a few minutes, sooner as users are able found it or send tickets...
(example: i remember when had extraVM or Liteservers tech issues in this year - i seen they was immediately working on it in less as 10 minutes, without waiting for tickets by users + extraVM was not silent but automatically extend for all affected users their prepaid hosting period about few next days!!! without any tickets = this i call top and serious, honestly provider)

    2) still quite well providers - also are able found problems without users must say them it, and resolve it usually within half or 1 hour, tolerated, everything can fails .. but u never have headache half day or more about server condition

    3) if provider is not able resolve issues several hours (and servers works poor or does not work ever several hours) - i think then is useless send tickets here more in future, and most rational decision for me is: host here only not important sites or services, or if it is extreme harakiri (as woot, alpha etc) run away rather instantly, before another wasting of time, money and health

waiting can easy told me in many case where i`m and how quality is this (for me new) host

BTW: i do not say and cannot say "Cloudcone is bad provider" based on experiences consist of period long 1 day of course (i`ll can say full and really objective review after 1 year at them or longer, of course at condition when i stay here so long - because at wootshit, alpha, hostmybytes, nfphost and similar overselling kings i was really not able do it). But after today incident / experience i give first exclamation mark for me for them

thats all, more only can hope this was exception and ill see how stable they will works next days and weeks

    Thanked by 1eol
  • "extreme harakiri".
    LOL.

  • Promo plans are semi-managed

    Probably this.

The reason for lower IO is many servers are actually running benchmarks, CPU and Disk both. Once the benching slows down, we can catch the IO abusers once the IO traffic slows down, you should be getting decent IO speeds then.

Apart from the Disk IOPS, you have 256 MB Memory, I doubt virtualmin can load properly with that memory, also i see your SWAP is 50% full.

For everyone concerned about IO, of course, we will fix it within the next 2 hours.
