    As it turns out, we were unable to reach an agreement fulfilling my request at 100%.

    Still on the lookout for a budget oriented .HK based VPS, requirements still are more or less identical:

    • KVM, no OpenVZ.
    • 1 vCore.
    • 1G of RAM.
    • 20~30G of disk (preference towards SSD over HDD).
    • Debian 9.x.
    • 1 IPv4.
    • Unmetered is highly preferable, recent BW usage summary shows pushed 400GiB outbound for 150GiB inbound over the past 75 days, that’s less than 5GiB per day given my maths are accurate.
    • Preferably presence at HKIX and HK1 Equinix.
    • Must be within/under 30ms of latency towards SGIX.

    I do not abuse CPU resources ever, all my VPS never got suspended in years, mostly idle at 0.02 load at best.

    My bandwidth usage outbound on the other hand is 4mbps with occasional 6mbps “bursts streaks”.

    It seems we’re looking at an 9$/month offer with no mention of customizable reverse DNS whatsoever or the technology used, either KVM or OpenVZ.

    Either way I’ll keep looking in the $5-$7 price range, I have no use for 30Mbps or 30G SSD at this point, 20G should be fine with a hardcap at 10Mbps is plenty enough for my needs.

    HostHongKong seems like the way to go, if it had optimized routes with <30ms latency to Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore for less than $4.99 a month, I'd probably sign up.

    I've used oneasiahost in the past, it was OK IIRC, pretty sure it was cheap.

    @tcp6 trying something new on the Asia POPs just for you... only outbound is metered so maybe the KVM1GB plan in HK is suitable. :)

    @Oliver going to inspect a few routes and stuff to servers I already "own" and will get back to you.

    Edit: Uhhhh... ran a traceroute on a server located in SG from your HK LG http://hongkong-lg.ransomit.com.au/, it appears it was routed through... Australia!?! :neutral:

    • Hong Kong, HK.
