Did anyone get a wrong location of Virmach flash-sale VPS
I bought a VPS in flash-sale, not a good deal though, but the location is in Piscataway.
When I login to my control panel, I found my new vps is in Buffalo, so I opened a ticket requesting for a correction. But they replied with "I am sorry specials are not eligible for any changes."
So did anyone get a wrong location of Virmach flash-sale VPS? And how do you deal with it?
Comments
You are lucky at least you got a deal. You should be happy.
Maybe you checked out late and got the next deal which had exactly the same specs but in a different location? It happened a few times.
I imagine @VirMach actually would want to make this right, since the offer was indeed for Piscataway location?

No. If they advertised one thing and delivered something different, they should fix it.
@liujason - are the other specs (5120 MB RAM, 45 GB disk) the same? Just wondering if your order may have overlapped into the next flash deal or something like that?
Thanks for your support. According to the reviews of Virmach datacenters, Buffalo is not good in network performance especially for connection to Asia. So Sad.
Waiting for the reply @VirMach
It kinda makes me sad that some providers will only act correctly when called publicly.
Shame on you, @VirMach
There is few times the script rotate the same specs offer but with only different location, or you maybe little bit too late click the order button which already rotated
There was only one offer for $37.51, so it is easy to find in the thread. And the following one had different specs.
That might be a bit hasty. Probably some junior support person was just processing 1,000 support tickets quickly and read it as someone wanting a voluntary location change (there's been a lot of people asking for that in the BF thread, even).
Piscataway isn't going to help you much. From Australia it is 15 hops/222 msec to Buffalo and 19 hops/215 msec to Piscataway. Compare that to 148 msec to LA.
Ping back to China from looking glass, the package loss is unbelievable.
Buffalo:
7 packets transmitted, 4 received, 42% packet loss, time 6040ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 283.400/284.217/285.253/0.931 ms
Piscataway:
4 packets transmitted, 4 received, 0% packet loss, time 3002ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 239.595/239.852/240.100/0.521 ms
As @VirMach has mentioned numerous times before, ask for your tickets to be flagged to management.
Do MTR to see where the loss is occurring.

They just push in not a well sold locations instead much ordered. I got in in previous Black Friday. Since a special deal, no satisfactions of course.
As for Piscataway "Rate limit exceeded. Try again in: 45 minutes"
So I traceroute from my side.

So that is China Unicom. The Party is interested in Buffalo.
Breaking News: Customer in China orders a service the most geographically distant possible, complains of poor network quality and will later on file a dispute against Virmach when the quality gets worse.
Pacific Ocean just a lake..
@liujason
Hi, first I'd like to refer you to the following on our thread
And this on the flash sale page
The courtesy timer was first 5 minutes after the deal ended, and then changed to 3 minutes.
If you create a ticket and provide as much information as possible, and then have it flagged either to our Sr. System Administrator or Management, we can check our system logs. If for some reason you were able to, and you did pay after 5 minutes (I know we said 3 minutes, but since we initially stated 5 minutes that's what we'll use to determine if you're eligible for anything) then we can possibly do something for you.
We can also check for any errors on our end, and of course, if that occurred we will make things right.
(edit) Also, this could instead be a really simple problem. Maybe just the geolocation of the service is incorrect if all the other specifications are OK. That means it's still in the right location.
Even Piscataway would not be optimal. We have a warning up for anyone that shows up as "China" on Cloudflare. Unfortunately, this does still happen a lot. We have a lot of negative reviews where customers order in New York and then write in their 1 review that their speed is slow. We know, you're on the other side of the globe.
The only location we can recommend customers from China to use would be Los Angeles, and even that can get spotty sometimes. It's all up to the Chinese ISP.
lol at this thread. you think there is a real different between nj location and buffalo,ny location??? hahahahhahahahaahaha
From china?! hahahahahhahahahahaha
on a serious note; ip geolocation could be wrong thought for the virmach vps. Mines show buffalo,ny on 2 services. like ip-tracker.org
No
Firstly, thanks for your reply.
I've been a loyal customer since I first bought your product, now I have 4 active vps products in Virmach and really enjoy the performances of them.
The payment of flash sale was automaticly proceededwa with a binded paypal account, so the time I clicked on the confirm button I also got an email from paypal said payment completed.
Thanks for providing the solution I want, I will reopen the ticket later.
I am fully awared that Estern US is not a good choice for me after the purchase, but you know I just can't resist the deal. My other vps from Vimarch are located in LA and SEA in very stable and satisfactory status.
Again, I'm not accuse Virmach for anything. In fact I really like this provider for the good price and.
Just for the record, I'm not complaining about the network performance, I'm just trying to correct a mistake.
Your traceroute shows Choopa - that's New Jersey
smh

Sorry, I actually see 198.46.189.4 is the looking glass - nj.lg.virmach.com
Its reverse record isn't set.
