Your VPS setup steps?
What steps do you take in securing/setting up a new server?
I have what I do noted down for myself but just want an idea of what everyone else does.
Mine goes update/upgrade/newuser/portchange/disableroot/setupufw/setupsshkey/disablepassword/fail2ban/zshsetup.
Pretty basic.

updating
ssh setup (disable root, add users with key)
2FA setup for ssh
firewall setup
fail2ban is essential, also remove shitstemd if present.

VPS's are supposed to be bought and left to idle forever,
i like to do apt-get install htop and then fap to the blue, red and green bars
I typically run my benchmark to know where my system's at.
Trust me, I have had my share of idlers. I'm just trying to be more active. I think.
Shutdown is the new idle.
Is it more enjoyable when you set your resolution to 800 × 600?
