Ok that's cool then. Seafile is light, but I think I remember Nextcloud being much heavier (at least on a kimsufi Atom)

Also, I haven't seen it mentioned, it is a lifetime price or a first order (year or month) only deal?

It does mention that you can use the allocated CPU 24/7, so a heavy application in terms of CPU usage shouldn't be an issue. Issue is probably more on the disk side if you, for example, decide to run a heavy database on this plan. That's what I believe is the intention of this "use case".

    And yes, it's recurring.

    Legal yes I suppose,

beagle said: How about same storage less memory for a lower price?

The pricing/cost is storage bound sadly which is why I just gave plenty of Ram with them from the get go.

v3ng said: Would love some smaller KVMs.

    1GB RAM and less.

Will see what I can come up with but I am not a fan of hundreds of tiny KVM VPS, they are rarely managed properly and just swap 24x7

davi said: If possible for you instead of 4GB OpenVZ, 2GB OpenVz with 50GB disk at half price or same price for two years

Will see what I can do, NL VZ is sold out already though.

awan said: i was create ticket #829734

Tickets are answered before I read LET updates :)

CreativeProjects said: ownCloud/NextCloud (or similar) on it? Would it draw too much resources?

That is fine, that is kind of what I expected the primary use would be which is why I did not limit the CPU use much if at all on these servers, I am practically giving them away at cost already.

    vimalware said: just don't torrent

Just dont torrent, abuse reports for torrents = instant termination no second scance, excuses I have heard 1000 times are "I left the VPN on", "My brother did it", "I left it logged in at school" , "Downloading jersey shore is not illegal in my country"

Tripleflix said: idea for the upcomming days; NL KVM with 2 or 3 GB

No plans to expect the NL core offers right now.

Mr_Tom said: @AnthonySmith got something like the storage setup, but with less HD and still KVM? Like the OVZ offer? Or a slightly smaller storage one without the "use case"?

Can you give me an example package?

Ndha said: Maybe double disk on your : 2CPU, 4GB Ram and 50GB NVME Disk instead 25Gb ??

I would have to almost double the price as well, the disks cost more than the servers :)

solaire said: That's what I believe is the intention of this "use case".

    Bingo.

I stepped out for a few hours to feed myself for the first time today, came back to 107 emails, 18 tickets, 57 orders, 8 PM's here and 15 notifications... all caught up now.

I am however scared to go to bed haha.

On assessment, both the UK OpenVZ and NL OpenVZ are sold out.

If there are none renewals (abandoned services) from last BF/CM over the next few days i will be releasing them after the 26th.

^ I found this guideline clarifying expectation wrt cpu in https://inceptionhosting.com/terms.html

As a general rule as long as you are not impacting others then you will not be restricted however as a guide line we ask that you do not average over 60% of a CPU core/thread for more than 24 hours on average or 100% of a core/thread for more than 1 hour.

So should be fine for seafile, nextcloud etc (assuming you have enough ram)

Those terms don't apply to the storage servers, you can use 100% of your allocation 24x7 CPU wise. I should really get that updated.

last note for the night, I will pick up any questions in the morning.

The offers go out early every day (and have been for the last 2 days) on Twitter first, be sure to follow @Inception_VPS to get the new offers first daily https://twitter.com/Inception_VPS

    Cheers

    Ant.

New VZ offers are unlikely until the 26th at the soonest when I find out how many people are not renewing from last year.

    I'm blind.

  • Now that lil' NVMe KVM is cool, but being offered by @AnthonySmith, it's beyond cool. I have absolutely zero use for it, yet here I am, glancing occasionally at my credit card, which is conveniently placed next to the keyboard. sigh

I was going to suggest that you stop masturbating, but what's done is done. So, you might as well carry on and enjoy one of the two pleasures remaining in your life - the other being @AnthonySmith's servers :P.

    1. What do you think?

KVM, 512MB - 1GB RAM, some regular SSD, some CPU, no IPv4, no NAT, no nothin', /64 IPv6, lowest price you can do.
