Terrahost reviews?

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with terrahost.no and can comment on their budget dedis? I'm close to pulling the trigger on one of them but can't really find any reviews on them.

Comments

  • I used their reseller. Its ok for the budget.

Thank you, is their network ok?

  • Yes, but I moved to HudsonvalleyHost. Was not very comfortable with their Support ( that was a few years back ).

Using Terrahost for a NAT node.
Got a special deal on a dedi and the network is good.
Only thing is that there are no KVM at all to the budget dedis so your only chance to recover a system down is using a sysrecuecd or asking the techs to hook up a monitor, which can be done monday-friday (business hours Norway).

The support responds fast and are helpful. I might be the odd case since I’m Swedish :)

After the move to DC2, with the bandwidth upgrade, it’s nice to be in Sandefjord.

If you want to try the network, use my looking glass (check my offer threads) or sign up for a Norway NAT

  • They use VMWare, All who provide Norway location resell them, and probably cheaper and use KVM.

I used one of their cheaper dedicated offerings a while back and service was quite good for the price. Worth to be aware of however is that all their cheap dedis as basically HP desktops and the drives have quite a bit of hours on them.

They're one of the cheapest hosts in Scandinavia and I've got no real complaints in terms of the service that's being offered.

  • Great provider, have a dedicated at the new DC2 (bunker) I got when they were offering deals here.

Support has always been fast and responsive.

  • PS: I've been using them since TheForeverCloud - think CloudAtCost, but done properly and new orders were shutdown when they ran out of spare equipment.

That box was on SSD storage with VMWare. When upgrading their DC they've switched over TheForeverCloud boxes and migrated to XenServer with Ceph based storage. Not going to lie, I miss the original setup... but the VM is fast, and I've never had a problem... on a one time payment server.

Since they upgraded and setup DC2, they have direct backhaul to Oslo via Blix, which has given them a huge BW upgrade.

Here's a bench from my dedicated server. This is a production hypervisor node with some active servers on it, so speed isn't all it could be:

The dedis are even more expensive on OneProvider, though:

Talking about VPS, not about dedi. TerraHost provide a few cheap dedi for own sales, but they only 1-2 in stock, like a promo for attract buyers.

Huh? They have 10+ in stock of their cheap 199 NOK dedis right now.

Terrahost is located in Sandefjord, not Oslo....
Are you sure Oneprovider resells Terrahost?

I'm fairly certain as they do advertise it on their website and the specs of the dedis are somewhat similar to what Terrahost offers

Check the "Words from selected customers" part on the site.

Missed that part. Well, must be that Oslo sounds better than Sandefjord.
Guess it's similar to offer something in Buffalo and advertise it as New York...

Yes I tried them , IP show me Sandefjord as Terrahost.

  • Lots of terrible hosts here just ask around I am sure some will fit you.

Not sure what you're on about - there is plenty of hosts here that are quite decent and Terrahost is one of them.

It is a called a joke. It is also the truth, Never once did I mention Terrahost as anything. Just said there are many terrible hosts here that is all.
