Because the price is going up. Two things happened. They took down silk road which sent the price tumbling. But then people realised that it was not the end of the world and actually was a good thing because you no longer had that shadow over bitcoin. So the price rose and rose and then a subsidiary of Baidu announced that they were going to accept bitcoin. So it went even higher. It'll keep going higher before crashing and recovering and then crashing again before settling at some middle figure.

Just to be clear: I don't want to sell to unknown people because of the risk of chargeback. That's why no one will sell BTC for PayPal usually or charge a big premium for it.

I would advise against buying BTC right now. Specially since the price has gone above 1k. It's bound to crash again. That's the time to buy BTC, not when it's skyrocketing.
I have 1.13 BTC I could sell you, though that depends on price and how you will transfer me the money. But I think I can trust you since you are a provider and probably don't want to ruin your name over a 1K-ish transaction. If you are interested PM me and we can work out some details and maybe an alternate communication method.
