  • Run rsync/ssh with no-compression will already help alot with the transfer speeds.
from what I've seen in most cases it'll be faster overall compared to what one gains on average by using compression.

  • When rsync'ing (no compression, easy crypto, multiple connections), it's easy to keep speeds between 18-24MB/s (tested on a 3TB transfer). Of course the load gets atrocious and the poor lil CPU starts melting, but it works. Throw full disk encryption in the mix and you likely end up in the dock at Nuremberg.

Actually doesn't do too bad as I think the module available on 4.5.2 uses a weaker algo, I have no problem with 10-12M/sec transfers from it even with SSH (SCP) in the mix.

However, I don't think you would get up to 24M/sec like you mentioned you saw without.

    Cheers!

  • Secure Shell (SSH) XD. If you want some extra performance, try finding some lighter ciphers.
