Anyone running Plex on Kimsufi or OVH?

Hello, I'm thinking about going back to Plex after a few months with put.io. Do anyone have experience with Plex and Kimsufi? Currently looking at KS-8 (i7-920, 16GB RAM, 100Mbps).

I used Hetzner+Plex before but my budget is 10-15€/month. Also interested in other providers although I doubt anyone can beat Kimsufi prices.

I heard people are running plex even on the smallest kimsufi, so an i7, even an old one, should work.

  • i5-2300, 2400 have support for hardware encoding (Intel quick sync video), tested and works perfect.

  • Plex on my 9€ KS-3C works perfectly.

  • If you're stream your files directly without transcoding then it doesn't matter which server.

I ran Plex on a KS-1 back in the day. Potentially
anything will work, depending on how busy your server is.

How many streams can those support with concurrent transcoding?

I ordered the 1 TB storage, 20 Gbit/s and Unlimited traffic plan from Feral Hosting (£10/m.). Will order something from Kimsufi within the next days to compare. I will require transcoding because my speed is 20 down/1 up.
