Doubt about Xen PV

edited February 2012 in General

Hi, I am new here, and learning a lot.
I want to run some graphical applications on a Xen PV VPS (Love VPS company), but I am not sure if I should install xorg or xvfb (virtual X framebuffer). If I can install xorg because Xen "virtualizes" its own graphic framebuffer, then I could save some RAM memory, because xvfb writes its virtual framebuffer in RAM. Could you help me? Thanks a lot in advance...

  • If you can install xorg, then use xorg, because it will use less resources.

If you can't install xorg because the hardware isn't virtualized, then install xvfb.

  • Thanks Damian. Great idea. I will try xorg; if platform doesn't accept it, then try xvfb... That's all and simple.
