x86_64 dedi server ~$5/5€ w/ 1TB+ storage, 100Mbps+

I'm looking to run utserver, storj, and maybe ipfs as a storage and bandwidth server. I've used Atom or i3 ~2Ghz in the past for 2C/2T... I'm trying to make some of my cost back by earning storj tokens and the rest I'll use help support the ipfs network and select .torrents like sxsw, webarchive, linux, etc.

I used to pay $20 for a higher end dedi, but want a more affordable dedi to help support networks.

lol, I've been around here long enough to know that a dedi for $5/month is just not happening.

  • kimsufi has their 3.99€ server, but I always seem to miss their special. every time I try, they are out of stock... I've also seen ARM dedicated servers for less than 5€, but found the processor speeds to be a little slow.

  • Sure, can you tell us more about your disabilities ?

Any reason you want a slower dedicated instead of a faster vps? The storage?

Well, I guess you have discovered the limitations of your budget.

If you want x86, check the baremetal Scaleway 4 core @ €12. they are dedicated servers, only disk is network shared.

Also, Wholesaleinternet has $10 Dual-core frequently on stock.

If it has to be on the range of $5, you might have to settle for ARM offers, which I've tested for web peformance and found them neck-and-neck with x86 machines. (See: https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/2804009/#Comment_2804009)

If I want to use 100% CPU, most VPS don't like that. So, dedi is usually the way I go, but you're right... I could use VPS as long as the storage was available. 500GB at least, but 1TB is nice.

I guess I need to be more patient and keep trying.

I may have to try ARM again. I guess once the processes are running, it should be fine.

  • Still very surprised with those SYS ARM servers with NAS CPU.

Got Nginx, php-fpm and seeding 200+ without any issue.

Only complain is the CPU got maxed out before bandwidth when downloading huge files via HTTPS.

  • I ended up getting a KimSufi server for 3.99€/mo plus the set up fee. I'm happy with the performance and I will make do with 500GB.

maybe You can Try oneprovider.com. 1gbit's but IF you use for seeding torrent they are limit 100 mbits. start 11€

Or you can try my signature wishosting 1.8 TB VPS. weekdays work good but weekends speed is down 80-100 mbits.
