Why VPS Hosting provider Showing fake RAM
my last many VPS Provider showing RAM 2GB or 3GB or 4GB but actual RAM is only 10 to 15% of that. In there control panel showing what they give but in our control panel is showing only 10 to 15% of showing RAM. Some of provider accept that they are using Balloon for RAM.
But why they are making fake commitment. there should be some rules for that also in LEB.
Comments
what is mean of over commitment, they show 3GB and they provide only 300 or 400 mb
No, they allow you to use 2GB, but your applications only use 300-400MB. The provider can't force you to use all the memory. In fact that's how the 2+ GB VPS market works - providers know that most of the users will use only very small percent of these 2+ GB of memory that they are allowed to use.
Ballooning is not just overcommittment.
any Application we use will not shown only wrong allocation of RAM. That app must shown HDD and BT and CPU load also.
I am so confused, please provide screenshots.
What exactly is BT ? Bit Torrent ?
Probably meant BW.
it should be BW (Bandwidth) not BT
I knew
It's showing you can have 4GB I don't see any problem?
Why VirtualMin is not showing ? why other thing is visible except RAM
That image reminds me of a provider when I'm running virtualmin/webmin. It took a while to display the correct ram and hd capacity.
After rebooting and restarting the virtualmin/webmin, it took about 10minutes to display correctly.
Maybe it's using a 32bit variable and is getting confused (variable wrap) when given 4GB RAM? No idea.
I have install script 3 times and many times boot but no change ok. other VPS is showing all the things with same script.
vps with 953.67TB ??
in LEB price
BW is oversold. :P
Unmetered BW on 300Mbps
That's slow, considering it's shared probably.
I think so.
And If the provider oversells it, people are undone...
This thread is too funny! what does free show? I bet you got plenty left over.
