Did Hetzner upgrade their network?

Hello everyone.

I currently have 1 month old plan on Hetzner. Since i got the vps, upload speed didn't go beyond 300Mbit/s.

Today I ran 10 different test from my vps and it did not drop under 800 Mbit/s.
Can anyone verify this?

Thanks.

    I'm having the opposite problem.

For the past couple of days, traffic from core-backbone to hetzner has been VERY slow and intermittent. It's 140ms to route from core-backbone to hetzner all within Paris?? (I assume it's Paris, could be any 2 cities in France, but it's still too long) And unfortunately, my ISP routes things that way.

I'm considering a temporary proxy setup on one of my other servers that doesn't have this issue.

    The worst it's been:

      6 * * *
      7 * * *
      8 212.113.8.42 (ae0-3356.lon10.core-backbone.com) 116.132ms 116.360ms 116.453ms
      9 5.56.18.1 (ae2-2077.fra20.core-backbone.com) 128.383ms 128.365ms 126.344ms
     10 80.255.15.122 (core4.fra2.hetzner.com) 248.539ms 255.720ms 226.692ms
     11 213.239.224.245 (core22.fsn1.hetzner.com) 224.450ms 226.706ms 232.563ms
     12 213.239.224.6 (ex9k2.dc13.fsn1.hetzner.com) 220.401ms 226.421ms 219.754ms

    And Intermittent:

      6 * * *
      7 * * 4.69.132.138 (ae-1-3113.ear2.London1.Level3.net) 108.142ms
      8 212.113.8.42 (ae0-3356.lon10.core-backbone.com) 113.241ms 113.616ms 119.600ms
      9 5.56.18.1 (ae2-2077.fra20.core-backbone.com) 124.586ms 125.030ms 124.427ms
     10 80.255.15.122 (core4.fra2.hetzner.com) 260.530ms 228.686ms 233.686ms
     11 213.239.224.245 (core22.fsn1.hetzner.com) 165.757ms 136.911ms 135.837ms
     12 213.239.224.6 (ex9k2.dc13.fsn1.hetzner.com) 222.166ms 228.130ms 202.387ms

Usually it's only 10ms or less, and sometimes it stays that way for a few hours, but...

I've seen certain french providers route traffic to/from hetzner through london.

AFAIK, I don't have any specific improvements in our network to report. Our customer newsletter often includes brief news on improvements in our network. If you're interested, you can sign up for it here: https://www.hetzner.com/newsroom/newsletter
If you are experiencing unexpected speeds -- be they either good or bad -- and you would like more information, it is always best to open a support ticket directly with our networking department using Cloud Console/Robot/konsoleH. That way, you can more easily share information with our networking team, who are not active on LET and other social media/forums. Plus, there are many different factors that can affect speeds, and these vary from person to person.
