Maxided Taken Down for Hosting Malware Ops
"Dutch police have seized ten servers belonging to a bulletproof hosting provider known for harboring child pornography sites and command and control servers for DDoS botnets, cyber-espionage, malvertising, spam, and malware operations.
The name of the hosting provider is MaxiDed, a service that has operated since late 2008, but which became increasingly more aggressive with its marketing in the last two years when its ads became a common occurrence on cybercrime forums.
According to an archived version of the site, the company offered dedicated servers, VPS, VPN, and server colocation services, claiming to host nearly 2,500 servers across 30 hosting providers in 82 countries."
Maxided.net and Maxided.com are both down.

If it takes a few people losing a few vpsses to completely eliminate child porn (and the associated abuse), I'll be first in line to throw my vpsses on the pile.

If Maxided-admin is not complete moron, those servers will never boot up again and cops will not recover any data from them...

That's really easy to say as someone removed the situation. Care to elaborate? I doubt there were techs physically standing by 24/7 in DCs to enter passwords for dm-crypt/LUKS whenever a server happened to reboot. Besides the tech, if this guy really is guilty, why would you want him to potentially get away with his crimes? I can't really see how him facing no responsibility for crimes he enabled or participated in would help anybody.
I was initially very skeptical of this raid, but if it's actually owned by the same guy, I can see why MaxiDed itself was raided as well.
(That little ownership detail somehow didn't make it into most media reports.)

He is. Don't ask why i know it, but do not expect encryption or similar.
He is however absolutely safe from any legal action from US/EU (you can take a guess, east obviously). The guys from MD/BG are not the MaxiDed owners.
From what he knows about tech and his payment problems/delays i highly doubt he had anything directly to do with this US cp raid (if related at all).
It seems that they're accused of having deliberately and knowingly facilitated DDoS attacks and having hosted child pornography.
Has anyone got information on this?
