UptimeRobot new interface

edited October 2013 in General

When I logged into UptimeRobot account today I couldn't believe my eyes. List of all my VPSs squeezed into small window in left corner and big oversized relatively useless "details about the account" dashboard window across 2/3 of my screen with no way to get rid of it.
It's impressive how one can ruin relatively clean and nice interface with all relevant informations and turn it into something, something... I can't find a words to decribe it.

Any other user of UptimeRobot here? What's your opinion about their new interface?
Maybe this wouldn't look so ugly to me with small list of 5 servers to monitor or something like that, but with 20, 30, 40 or more hidden into small window... it's just terrible.

StatusCake is nice and the free plan fits my needs.

  • Crap, this is terrible. How do I select my servers? The left panel shows only about 8 servers and I have to use "search" function to find anything else. Scroll function doesn't seem to work.

  • How do I select my servers?

    Click on the name?

I don't know what you all have - but I like the new panel :P

Nice. Too bad I've left them behind. I swore by them for years, but if I get one more email/text at 2am telling me a website is now up when it never even told me it was down, I'm gonna punch something.

Yeah, but say I have 20 monitors with them, the left panel only shows maximum of 8, I have to scroll to see the rest. But this scroll function doesn't seem to work. So for servers not displayed on the left panel I can't click them, or view any details.

    Simply terrible!

  • I used to use them extensively till about three months ago, and switched to my own system. It's a shame.

Scroll function work for me, but I have way more monitors added and now try to scroll down to the bottom for simple overview everytime. Not to mention this "Account Dashboard" which looks like one huge banner across 2/3 of my monitor. Terrible.
It's free I know but still...

This is awkward. Scroll function is working on Opera. Mouse/touchpad scroll does not work in Firefox or Chrome (it will scroll the right panel instead), though it's working if I use the laptop's touchscreen.

  • @Spirit: Are there any alternatives that are also free which you prefer?

  • @DAVPS Statuscake as some already suggested seems nice, but I was too lazy to insert all my VPSs into like I did with UptimeRobot and selfhosted script by @clone1018 (http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/298181/#Comment_298181).
In one of those days I need to find some time to finally set up and insert all my vps stuff into excellent server status script by @joelgm (http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/12421/server-status-script/p1).

Where's the download link for that? Thank you and sorry for going slightly off-topic.

  • @DAVPS download url: http://repository.droidzone.in/ (and here is live demo: http://pinger.droidzone.in/ - details can be disabled)

  • @Spirit: You might want to check out: https://github.com/RaymiiOrg/raymon

  • I think that some of the new features are cool, but there are things that need improving... I think its a step in the right direction.

  • looks nice, really great service i like it

  • Looks really nice, but I never really login that much.

I remember using uptime robot for fun to track the downtime we had with VirtPanel. Lets just say if uptime robot was anywhere near remotely correct, it was a good move us switching back to SolusVM.
