I would like to order one (or two) of these NAT VPS, but I have a few questions before I can decide:

    1) I want to use the VPS for an OpenVPN installation for gaming, but I see "Open proxies or Private proxies" are listed as forbidden activities and it's not clear if my scenario is a "Private proxy" or not. On the other hand, I can see this tutorial [https://hosting.gullo.me/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/6/nat-ipv4-how-to-set-up-openvpn/4/]. So, is my "OpenVPN for gaming" scenario forbidden or not?

    2) Is the $2/y offer enough for this "OpenVPN for gaming" scenario or should I go for a larger one? (I can take 2 * $2 or 1 * $4 I think)

    3) Is it technically possible to accomplish this or do these VPS have some more restrictions except the IP/NAT? (not so techy on this, but as I understand TUN/TAP is related to this)

@Cam Thank you for your quick response.

I think I can manage the technical part while there is the wonderful Nyr's "openvpn-install" script.
I'm looking for an european location only, most probably Bulgaria and Germany. What can you advice on these two? Are Bulgaria's servers less loaded? Or Germany has much more resources and better go for it? (Well, even Finland is OK if it's the least stressed)

Are the OVH discovery offers in SHG & AUS within your price range by any chance? That might work too maybe..

Is 128MB RAM enough to run OpenVPN?

  • CamCam Member, Patron Provider

    @HowLowCanYouGo said:
If I wanted to run OpenVPN, would it be possible on a NATted server? How much RAM do you think is necessary? 256MB?

    Yes, 128MB is fine.

  • What happens if you exceed the 125GB of bandwidth?

Is it easy to upgrade, say we want to go from $2/yr to $4/yr. Is this a manual process or can we do it from the control panel and pay the difference?

Your service will get suspended if you exceed BW. You can upgrade BW for $1/year per 125GB

You can upgrade the server from the control panel directly, The process is automatic.

  • Do you have any intention to add PEN location for storage server NAT-256GB ? I would be interested in this location...

Can you add a new payment method?
Paypal is not popular in some countries.
Use new payment methods. you can increase the number of people who want to buy your services.

I can hope that you will add a new payment method soon?

Unfortunately, I don't have any plans on adding any other payment method at this time.

for residents of other countries except America is very inconvenient to pay for services through PayPal.

about every 5th person thinks that the most convenient payment method is Bitcoin or Ethereum. See: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/156132/the-best-and-most-convenient-payment-method-for-purchase-vps

There is no problem with the new payment method. you don't need to know anything about cryptocurrency and don't need to have a cryptocurrency wallet. you'll receive money on your credit card.

Add a new payment method. you'll get new clients.
