OVH "best value" dedicated server launch
https://www.ovh.com/fr/serveurs_dedies/bestvalue/1801bv02.xml
Doesn't appear to be live in other languages. Servers are E3 v4's or equivalent (https://ark.intel.com/products/series/87722/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-v4-Family).

So they're constantly running out of IPs and have to buy more yet they're letting you add a /24 to your server for €20/mo? Prem.
Edit1: Also, here's the link to the 32GB model @ €60/mo -

Edit2: USA Links (servers still in France) -
https://www.ovh.com/world/dedicated-servers/bestvalue/1801bv01.xml ($72/mo)
https://www.ovh.com/world/dedicated-servers/bestvalue/1801bv02.xml ($96/mo)
no, you pay the 20 euro to get the "non-best value" options like the ability to purchase up to 256 IPs, just like all of the existing normal servers. You still have to pay for each IP. It is similar to Online.net where you pay for basic features.
It looks like this is just a way to get random stock sold on OVH accounts (possibly old contract hardware) without users having to go to SYS.
Well, he recently got like 6x /16 which is a ton of /24 so no worries, also he needs to justify to get more ones, so he gives them out like candy, easy game.
Well yes and no but then i can't realy put into perspective how much 1536 /24s is to someone like OVH. Agreed on the second part. OVH giving out IPs cheap and easy is obviously a calculated move so they can get more, more and more. Wonder when they are going to start milking their investment but they'll probably wait a bit longer.
Oh wait, its more then 6, 14x /16, premium.
Still don't know what this really means to them but it's a massive amount for sure. Would be interesting to somehow measure how long it takes them to run out again.
I don't know if it works like this anymore, there's no free IPs at RIPE and such, so you can't simply justify and get more. Now you must buy from someone else, and there it shouldn't matter if you have a good justification or not.
I thought you'd still have justify use to hold them. Not really my field though and surely doesn't apply to legacy space which i am quite sure to remember having seen being used by OVH and Hetzner.
You still have to justify in ARIN for example, even if you’re transferring them from another party. Also, if you’re transferring from ARIN to RIPE you have to justify them to RIPE so that RIPE stays compliant with ARIN policy.
They could throw the E3v4's into SoYouStart, but oh well....
This basically IS soyoustart, with a 20 euro extra charge to get all the normal ovh benefits like up to a /24
The offers make sense, they plan to ditch, SYS/Kimsufi and make one big OVHCloud thing.
You just get a basic package and pay more.
Offer live in BHS (canada), soon others datacenters.
€20/mo upgrade isn't worth the money.. it's only +€15/mo for an SP-32 which has a v6 CPU and 500Mbps. 64GB version costs the same with upgrade, but still a newer CPU.
So yeah, only a deal if you're keeping it stock. Does come with Anti-DDoS Pro & a KVM though.
So what CPUs models are in these ? No one ever reported it yet...
