Not from europe but IIRC namecheap offers .eu and a bunch of local extensions too (as far as you will be able to register those without a local presense). Might be worth a look.
Wedos.com has cheapest domains. They are (according to them) selling these at registry prices.
Their history is too shady for my taste.
I'd like to avoid the behemoths Namecheap and GoDaddy due to personal reasons.
Looks good but their list of offered domains is rather short with only 3 national domains. Im looking for one shop to cover all my european needs.
Ahh, haven't had any issues with them for the years I've been with them.
There's also https://www.dynadot.com/domain/
SubReg has a large portfolio of TLDs. https://subreg.cz/en/cenik-domen/?show_currency=eur&
They have always been fine from my experience/what i heard in later years. Don't really know whats shady about them? Their run in with this pharma lobby group? They are owned by CentralNic now anyways.
Their list is big but so are their prices which is the common picture I am seeing. Registrars either provide a huge variety of domains while being >50% more expensive or only a selected few dirt cheap. If anyone knows a registrar who covers the whole european union while charging average prices please do not hesitate to reply.
Check out Loopia: https://www.loopia.com/domainnames/
It's Swedens largest registrar as far as I know.
Have a look at Infomaniak: https://www.infomaniak.com/en/domains
Pretty Good pricing, Based in Geneva. They offer Domain Privacy for 3.- CHF/yr (3.1$)
I have almost all my Domains there, no problems so far.
I have some domains with:
https://www.do.de
Also for some projects Freenom is acctually sufficient EU Domain is listed for 4,30€/year.
https://www.crazydomains.com/ has new .eu domains for $3.00 currently.
BTW, are you in the UK?

Ditto with OVH, they have a bunch of TLDs that's the lowest you'll find around. Initial account setup is PITA (with identity check and all) but once you've done with it, regular administration is a breeze.
Managing your domain portfolio, however, if you have large number of domains might be a little cumbersome though with their control panel.
Surprised no one said https://www.gandi.net/en yet, they have seemingly every TLD you could need, and are European, and seemingly an alright company. Prices generally are not the cheapest though.
I would but i have zero experience with them beyond not hearing anything bad. Also as you said prices aren't exactly cheap and this is LET after all.
I have a specific European ccTLD for my personal website. The cheapest registrar was a national one. Any of the big ones that offer tons of TLDs wanted to charge a lot of money, whereas mine offers my TLD at the former government price.
Google Translate is a plus here if you want cheap pricing, as well as putting in the time to research registrars that work on a more national level.
