Ramnode doing NVMe now
$12/mo for a KVM w/ 2GB RAM + 25GB NVMe
Who else is doing NVMe in the low lands?
Comments
@Hetzner_OL Hetzner has example
1vCPU, 2GB RAM, 20GB NVMe, 20TB Traffic, 3.08eur(3.73usd)/month
2vCPU, 4GB RAM, 40GB NVMe, 20TB Traffic, 6.07eur(7.35usd)/month
2vCPU, 8GB RAM, 80GB NVMe, 20TB Traffic, 11eur(13.36usd)/month
edit: forgot prices shown are with finnish a value-added tax 24%.
@Abdullah at Hosthatch has:
1xDedicated core, 4GB RAM, 20GB NVMe, 2TB Traffic $10/month
@Vmhaus has
2vCPU, 2GB RAM, 30GB NVMe, 8TB Traffic, 7usd/month
First Root has NVMe (product line Ultra Edition) starting from 12€ (without VAT) for 2GB RAM/50GB NVMe, they also have a rep here @MichaelFR :-)
feel free to use my shameless aff: https://www.first-root.com?aid=e85a4205a15a
also InceptionHosting @AnthonySmith does NVMe in the UK, smaller sizes though :-)
Offtopic: Ramnode made a call to stop trying to be the lowest of the low. Seems like it's been working well, so kudos to them.
NVMe is pretty normal now, enough that I'd no longer treat it as a special feature.
What? Banned too soon.
I smell Crandolph
Why did OP get banned? His username translates to "Your_discourse" in Georgian.
Ban evasion probably. Some are sadly addicted to LET.
Lowendlife, so to speak.
Nice offer, pricing is outside the range the usual abusers are willing to pay. Nice addition @Nick_A, I will get one of those.
Thanks for the translation. He's not currently banned, but was asked to use English in his username.
@შენი_დედამოვტყან I just wanted to tag OP and see what happens.
Fuck off, out of stock in the Netherlands, Ramnode are shit...
@Janevski
Look, I can't even tag users with basic formatting.
What makes you think that'll work?
So, how can we tag OP? (If he refuses to alter his username?)
OP has been PM'd to ask what username he wants. If he does not respond within a sufficiently long timeframe his account will most likely be banned, which can then be appealed through the helpdesk, at which point a username change will be enforced.
Should have it early next week!
Thanks will keep an eye out.
Servercheap.net has 2 CPU Cores KVM, 2GB ram, 25 NVMe for $6.5.
Wondering if we are getting offtopic, but the OP asked.
Just found one of my old favs, vspcheap doing nvme servers
https://www.vpscheap.net/pricing.aspx
I expect a trial for me, Nick
ETA for west coast?
Also off topic: you mentioned way back you were working on your own panel and possibly an hourly billed offering, any updates there or you guys just sticking with the current model (which clearly works well)?
When using NVMe VPS, what is the speed range one should expect?
1000MB/s to 2000MB/s?
You shouldn’t. Because different NVMe havedifferent capabilities, some can only do 400M on writes for example. Additionally you’re not alone, this is a shared resource on a VM.
I would add that you don't need and shouldn't expect 1000MB/s IO speed on a 20GB 10€ VPS with a 1Gbps network.
Probably soon. Wanted to see how this config performed before ordering more.
We have one more issue to fix with the lxc implementation, then expect to do some form of beta immediately after.
We've seen up to 2.1GB/s dd within test guests on an empty node. fio writes just under 3000MB. Obviously, speed will vary depending on node usage, caching, etc. I would just expect it to be generally faster than standard SSD.
The key part some blissfully forget and don't want to admit.
You are caching NVMe? Is it even worth it?
Sure it is.
Ram’s still faster, to start with ;-).
No, sorry for the confusion. I meant in comparison to other NVMe environments.
