A quick question about sys panel is it possible to block ports from their panel just like for ovh vps series and is it possible to activate permanent mitigation mode?

It's the game protection and always active.
All UDP ports are blocked by default till you open those who you need.

oh ok so that 20 ovh rules firewall for blocking/allowing ports is available in sys panel?

The game protection is especially for game/voice servers like TS3, Minecraft, CSGO etc.
If you want to block ports or allowing just specific IP's, you're on the wrong with SyS.

If you just need a godlike ddos protection than don't hesitate and order a SyS game.

can anyone run this and tell me if it's using the i915 as the default VGA?
    sudo lspci -v -s $(lspci | grep VGA | cut -d" " -f 1)

For whatever reason one of my machines is showing ASpeed Asus as the primary display and won't hardware transcode.

This is the result I got on a GAME-1 in BHS:

04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ASPEED Technology, Inc. ASPEED Graphics Family (rev 21) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device 84eb
    Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 5
    Memory at dc000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=32M]
    Memory at de000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=128K]
    I/O ports at c000 [size=128]
[virtual] Expansion ROM at 000c0000 [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3

  • this is weird, its supposed to be showing Intel VGA as the iGPD. I have the same issue on one of my machines, the other one shows Intel VGA

  • This is what it should say:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Cor e Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller] )
    DeviceName: Onboard IGD
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 30
    Memory at f7800000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M]
    Memory at e0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
    I/O ports at f000 [size=64]
    Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled]
    Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit-
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2
    Capabilities: [a4] PCI Advanced Features
    Kernel driver in use: i915
    Kernel modules: i915

I have opened a ticket, lets see.

yup, same here. let me know what you find out.

  • I still haven't heard back anything from support but it seems like the motherboard doesn't support Intel iGPU and uses the old Asus Aspeed drivers, its a hardware thing not software from my understanding. It is ridiculous that they will do this on a Game server since most games utilize the chipset whether for encoding or gpu. Please raise a ticket if this concerns you otherwise they are unlikely to replace these. I will have to return this server as it is useless without hardware transcoding for me.

OVH is not alone doing this. Reliableservers/site got 47xxK, 6700K, 7700K for rent and you can't access the Intel GPU on these.

I highly doubt SYS would change something about this.

I have another SYS server with exactly the same specs, same everything that allows this, I posted the results above.

  • Well mine shows ASPEED.

  • vishvish Member

could it be a motherboard bios setting? I'm not paying to find out!

  • it seems more like different motherboards, the one where I have access to the iGPU was purchased before this deal was on and its in BHS4 I think, and it seems all these new i7s have a different motherboard

I got a reply to my ticket already and it’s the weekend, amazing! Here is what they said:

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting SoYouStart regarding your bandwidth speed. It will be a pleasure to assist you.

As written on the SoYouStart website, the bandwidth would be 250 Mbps for the servers.

500 Mbps would be for the dedicated servers from OVH.

  • here are mine for Game 2

Got a response about the bandwidth today. Apparently it was error with the website and they were never supposed to have 500Mbit/s

@FredQc is yours still rocking that upload speed?

I would first like to apologize for the wait. We are currently receiving a high amount of tickets, which is affecting our response time. However, please rest assured that we are trying our best to reply back as soon as possible.

Our specialists have confirmed to us that the bandwidth for your GAME-1 server is 250 Mbps and there was an issue with the website. The information has been updated and you can view it through the link below:

The 500GB backup space is an error, I brought it up to them last week and they said it was fixed but I'm guessing not.
